Man that J20 looks badass. I want to know of the head is solid or has a threaded heatsink, I much prefer a solid head like on the STL-V2 3x. Threads in the pic look horrible tho…
The 19 looks awfully floody as most of the reflector is missing, definitely helps with throw to have the outer portion.
Nice looking lights the J19 might mod up nice. Easier to mod than the SP03 because of the series vs parallel thing. Slave a dry driver in there and you would really have something.
I wish I knew the size of the driver and if there is extra room and decent heatsinking. It might just work with 3 MT-G2’s and a 9xdriver.
The head of j20 seems short threaded, this improve the heatsink?
I only have multi-emiter light 3t6 and j12, I trying to buy the t90 but I dont know if the reflector have a good balance of flood/throw like x6 (my dream light before t90  )
I want so much to see beamshots of these monster :_(
Is the J20 able to get much boost out of 32650s to voltage and capacity? Anyone know a good 32650 and specs if so and/or has anyone dealt with 32650s? Bigger batteries may be able to deliver higher voltage for longer but are barely higher mAh from what I’ve seen vs 26650s…just like 26650s should be proportionately higher mAh compared to 18650s…
To make a truly amazing thrower out of a SST90 with the huge reflector it helps to swap it out with a XM-L2 on copper de-domed. You have to drill out the hole of the reflector to get it to focus right but then you are looking at double the Lux easy. If you put in and XP-G2 on copper and run it at 5 amps it goes up again by a lot but then the light is really pinpoint. I like the XM-L2 de-domed. It blows away a de-domed SST-90. I just sold one and am building an even harder driven one right now. The one I sold is just getting started at 300 meters where most good throwers are getting dim. I’m hoping to hit 500,000 lux with my next super thrower. Fun stuff for sure. I have four hosts on the way, 5 MT-G2’s 6XM-L2’s and an XP-G2 all on octogons on the way, plus some drivers. It should keep me busy for a bit. Oh and I bought the best thermal epoxy on the market and that set me back $40. Shot my budget for the month though even after I sold a bunch of lights.
I do like the SST-90 de-domed too though because you still get a great flood and it throws as far as is really needed by anyone. I have an Ultrafire T90 that I bought from Wallbuys for $77 bucks and it came with 2 panasonic 3400mah’s for free, (Fathers day special) Even at $77 it’s a good deal for such an amazing thrower. It won’t touch the same light with a de-domed XM-L2 for through though so I will probably toss one in when my emitters show up.
I guess these will still have no undervoltage protection…
That’s a big disadvantage for applications which need a lot power…
I would be happier if they would make a long king style lamp with some 18650s parallel, but some in serial too. maybe 3s3p…
Then we could use nice and cheap protected brand batteries…
