Yes, the S5 is very narrow…mine wouldn’t even allow Sanyo 2600 unprotected! The difference in reflectors looks subtle in the pics, how is it in real life? I’ve got 3 reflectors ordered from Simon also. Thanks for the review!

Thanks for the comparison pics of the SM and OP reflectors.
I really don’t see much difference from the smooth reflector, its very subtle.

In real life does the SM reflector have a more distinguishable throw?

Btw, really nice macro shots of the LED!

Glad you liked the tint. Now you need to start trying a few other tints in that range, and before you know it, you’re a tint-snob… :stuck_out_tongue:
Im not that into the T3 6A1 due to its “rosy” tint. For general purpose, it would still be an easy choice to take it over any CW though. :slight_smile:

I'm not a power hog but 1 amp is lame as hell if you're gonna do an amp at least do an amp and a half and a Nichia .

This host has always kind of turned me off since it has the same shape as the old blf delights . I guess I need to try one .. maybe I can shill for hosts . thanks for the sweet macros and for taking heat about introducing this seller ,nice to have options .

What other convoy lights does the OP reflector fit ?

Boaz, according to their site the reflector should fit the Convoy S2, S5, S6, and S7.

Awesome macros, but I agree with Boaz. 1A high? Come on…

It’s just personal preference.

Some see the max level as a “turbo” = use sparingly but good to have as an option.
Some see the max level as a “high” = use it as long as they want, not worry about burning hand or light or handing it to someone else.

Btw, how good are these reflectors (OP/SMO) with XPG2? Does the XPG2 need to sit lower for it to focus correctly?
