Nice thick square cut threads.Thick rubber- revers polarity protection.

S10R uses single CR123A or RCR123A/16340 battery.
Too long protected 16340 batteries could be a problem for switching mode group.

There is enough aluminum to deal with the heat.
My sample arrived with no sign of grease on the O-ring.Very hard to unscrew the head.
My first step was to grease it well. The threads are also not as clean as expected.

Side grooves provide excellent grip.
S10R can tail-stand.

Size comparison to other good lights and different battery types.

Practical pocket clip. Good options for attaching.

Can be used as a headlamp.

Reversible clip, made of premium grade 304 stainless steel, sandblasted and matte.
Innovative design pocket clip. The flashlight can be attached head-up or head-down.
Looks very sturdy. Its edges are not smoothed very well. It’s not too stiff and is convenient to use.

Good knurling. It’s too aggressive in my opinion, but that is made for an excellent grip.

Nice tough switch cover with the brad logo.

Well anodized body, but there are some spots between the cooling fins,on my sample.

Thick stainless steel bezel protects the head, reflector and glass from impact.

Deep,wide orange peel aluminum reflector-Diameter ~19,5mm.
Well centered LED.

Anti-reflective coated,tempered ultra clear glass.

The light from the XM-L2 LED used here is nice cool white,no greenish or bluish tint. The beam is floody-big hotspot with very useful spill.Excellent light for every day use-walking,outdoor sport, close range work, reading etc.

User Interface

There are 7 output modes in two groups.
First group- Head tightened- Low,Medium,High (no memory)
There are also hidden SOS and Slow flash modes. They can be activated after second cycle of the Low,Medium,High.
Low-Medium-High-Low-Medium-High-SOS-Slow flash

Second group- Head loosened-Strobe,Turbo (no memory)

Choosing the mode happens by half pressing the switch.Full press(click)to lock the mode.

While on Low,Medium,High,SOS or Slow flash-Loosening the head activates Turbo.Tightening back activates Low brightness mode.

My sample requires head to be maximum (impossible with one hand) tightened to activate the regular modes group.

Excellent grip for 88mm long flashlight.

Because of the thick water sealing O-ring,tightening and loosening the head is not easy.

Waterproof, in accordance with IPX-8 standard.

Conclusion
Beautiful, very handy flashlight, very useful light for different needs.Nice lightweight body.Good quality for the price.High efficiency components.
I would like to see a less bright low mode-about 2 lumens.

Sunwayman S10R is a good choice for an EDC light.

There is also AA/14500 version on this light-S10A

Thanks for reading!

Thanks to Sunwayman for providing S10R for review.

Another great review  Thanks.
First time I see that SWM :open_mouth: And it’s CR123 size :stuck_out_tongue: A slightly larger head for a bit more throw. Nice

Thanks for taking the time to post it!

Thanks for the very comprehensive review FlashLion. Looks like a nice light. You may have mentioned it but I could not see it, the no memory on the modes. What mode does it start up on?

Thank you!

It’s a new model and is cheaper than their other flashlights.I see it for 40$ at ebay.Seems like a good price for the components used-XM-L2,AR glass, high efficiency constant current driver.

Thank you!

S10R always starts on Low mode when the head is tightened. Low-Medium-High
When the head is loosened, first is Strobe, then Turbo.

Well done .

Cool

Wow. Amazing review. Professional, top-notch.

Nice review, and again, great photos. Haven’t seen that before and it’s a very handsome light… Wish I didn’t have so many 16340 lights already, ’cause I really like the looks and features of that one.

Great review, Thanks
I am very happy with it, is an edc for a few days in my rotation. My thread also is a bit hard because the Oring (it is certain that water will not enter).
Great grip, quality finishes, and the distribution of modes is perfect.

I do not review in English. If it’s okay I put here my runtime test

Very nice review of a very nice light for a good price. (I'm tempted)

Thanks for a great review. Great photos too!

Thanks, I was wondering if you bought it or was a review sample.

Great review, great photos too!

Thanks!

What’s the problem if you enjoy the review. 8)
You can see all details in this review-no matter good or bad.

No problem Trevi_lux.
I also thought to make runtime test, but here is too hot and I can’t get correct measurements.

No problem at all! I don’t really like the design but maybe someone will!

Very good review, thanks. Good modes (turbo then strobe is better for me  ).

I think she was thanking you for letting us know that the light was provided for free. When this information is given it’s a good thing because it gives the reviewer credibility.

Photon1k is right, it is important and appreciated! Not all reviewers are so forthcoming.
