I bought a 15XT6 a couple week ago and got it yesterday. I took it for a couple walks last night and it’s impressive. It’s just a huge wall of light. There isn’t much throw with the reflectors being tiny so it’s all flood and lots of it. It’s the most lumens out of any stock light I have seen yet. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if it’s close to 5,000 lumens. With 15 emitters I would think it’s fairly efficient. It does get hot but even when it was really hot it didn’t seem to lose much if any brightness. It is brighter with 4 king kongs vs 4 2600mah sanyo’s but it runs good on either. I have to say this is one for someone who wants a WOW factor light without having to mod. I was thinking about modding it but I’m not planning on anything right now. I haven’t taken it apart yet to see how it’s built or anything yet. My wife hurt her leg so my cameraman is out of action for a while so no beamshots yet. Just thought I would say that this is quite the light.
I like it so far, it does have one annoying ring in the beam but don’t they all? Well most of them anyway. It is definitely one big wall of light.
I would say it’s less throw. Maybe not a ton less but less. I have a 6xU3 with the IO driver that is about the same maybe just a little more total lumens and it actually throws quite a bit but not this light. There is some just because it’s so bright but not that much.
I might actually thought about de-dome a few of them just to give it a little throw and better tint. But I don’t want to mess with the beam I’m afraid it would get more ringy.
You have to ask them for a shipping price and then mess with them a bunch to bring it down. They finally agreed to ship it for $15 and I got it pretty quick too.
thats pretty crazy! i love it! 5000 lumens stock. is there a driver for this or mods to make it reach 7000 or 8000 lumens?
my ak47 with 9 leds is getting 6000, so i think i would only buy this if it can surpass that by a decent margin.
do you know if my ak47 driver will fit this 15xml light?

I would imagine it could be modded using the same driver. I know which one you mean I have used it twice now and have one in a 6x with U3’s. The thing is that both lights are close in brightness with this one having a longer run time before it gets so hot. I could use the same IO driver and run two arrays of emitters. 7 in one and 8 in the other in series and run the two series of arrays parallel to each other. I have no idea if the batteries could handle it, but I’m guess that they simply wouldn’t. I think they would overheat the driver too. So chances are the only mods I will be able to do will be resistance mods and I’m not sure I want to. As it stands I have a light that is around the same brightness as the 6XU3 with better efficiency, thermal management and run time.
I have a J-18 (7x) on the way that I won on wallbuys sale and that is getting the IO driver and XM-L2’s. That one should be very interesting as well. I’ll probably end up doing the same thing with a 9x one of these days too.
Once you contact them they will let you know how much shipping is and only some of them end up being good deals, most of them are only ok. They will send you shipping and give you their paypal address to send the money to.
With me they got back with a really high shipping quote and then I got them to ship it via Singapore Post and it was much cheaper and it still got here fast enough.
