Defiant Super Thrower is now $12.00 get back to Home Depot now!

This close out price was posted in the original DST thread by garrybunk but being a large old thread may be overlooked. Here is the link

only problem is that this is store specific and over a month ago when i went to 6 stores in my area they were all sold out and never getting more in stock. That was back when they were $16 each and they said they had been sold out for 2 months even though online it said they had 10+ in stock

It’s ironic that this light should go out the same way it came in. Limited availability.

In Connecticut they never sold well at all, perhaps because of the hurricanes and power outages we have had in the recent past. People around here already bought up all the lights they need for some time, and through a knee Jerk reaction, dismiss the thought of another light now.
All I can say is if one wants one bad enough, to check their store. And once again I have to stress that if the store has them, to take it up to the register to have it price scanned. Just because the sign says “16.98” or “22.97” doesn’t mean that is the price. At my store in CT, the posted price has always been 22.97 even though it was first reduced to 16.98 and now 12.00. This goes for any store that I have been in.
In the original thread on this light When they first came out, there are stories of us crawling up onto shelves looking for them. Also at the most recent postings of the original thread there are the same kinds of stories. This light was never easy to come by. At this final close out price one may think, once again, it is worth the extra effort.

As I said in other thread, great find and thanks for reporting. I get the impression this one may be nation wide. It's not even pulling up in the system anymore at the stores I checked. Using the older DOS-based system they found them. It appeared to be $16.98, but rung up at $12.00 anyway.

To anyone that wants any of these lights, best of luck! I recommend you take a picture and ask for the employee that would best know were everything is. Also look for a $12.00 label on shelf. The lights are probably no longer in that cardboard display box. So they are probably laying down and taking up very little space.

Is this the correct light…the Defiant ArmorMax 3C?

Kronological, I think that the armored version is the updated product, the light in question, that is to say, the one on closeout, will not have the rubber cups.

No, the Super Thrower has a much larger head and doesn't wear a rubber.

the DST isnt even on their website anymore, they took it off roughly a month ago. you legit have to go to the store to see if there are any available

Here is a picture from Garry's thread. With mods, it's the best thrower in the Defiant line of flashlights.

Thanks cone.

My pleasure.

It's not an updated version of the Super Thrower. It's a different model. Smaller reflector. More for general usage than throwing.

Went to my Home Depot, and like advised, they didn’t think they had them. I brought my old plastic carton from my original purchase. The scanned the Bar Code, and they did have 22 of them. When they scanned one, they said it was still 16.97. I told them that they were supposed to be 12 on clearance, and they smart assed me and smerked…so fk them…

I had a similar experience at my HD this morning. Last 3C there, so I took it. They also had a half dozen 5Cs for $15 even, so I took one more of those as well.

If anyone in the NJ area is still interested - the Paterson, NJ store has 10+ still sitting on the top shelf.

I had to do some shelf climbing but sure enough they rang up for $12.00.

That makes this my 3rd….i might stop now.

I found the last one at the Harbison Blvd HD in Columbia, SC yesterday. It was stashed away in the home lighting area. Was marked $15, but rang up at $14 plus sales tax. A store manager saw me checking out with it and made much ado about it being their last one and how good a deal I was getting.

I have talked to many store managers, and that light was probably stashed on purpose by either he or an employee. It happens all the time and people get fired all the time for it. Nevertheless it is quite common. I recently bought some yard umbrellas that were on clearance and “stashed” on a pallet on a top shelf in lumber!
The fork lift operator actually asked me not to buy all 4, he wanted one.

I used to do that a Wall-Mart.

You mean you didn’t offer to buy it for him in return for tips or even help with future stashes? 0:)

There’s still the 9 remaining I left at my local store. It was $17 when I got mine, well worth it. If it drops to $12 I think I’ll grab 2 more.

I looked for a good 15-20 minutes, asked someone they led me back to where I just searched, asked another guy and he did a stock search for “tactical” and led me right to their location. A bit hidden away on an upper shelf.
