Solarforce SF-18C charger defective?

I just recieved a new L2P solarforce flashlight, charger , 2 batteries, & LC-XML@ module . The light works very nice! the problem seems to be in the charger. How long does it take to charge the S18650P (V3)? I’ve had them charging for at least 6 hours today & the indicator never changes. I checked the voltage & got 5.2 volts. So it appears to be working. i haven’t taken it apart to be certain. I think I will let it charger all night long to see if that makes any difference. Any ideas? A buddy of mine told me today ” let the solarforce be with you”. I’m new to this group, hope I’m not repeating someone elses comments here. Thank you in advance!!!

Where did you measure 5.2 volts, Battery or charger? Or is that a typo, you meant 4.2v. Are you sure your DMM is measuring correctly with a fresh battery in the DMM.
4.2v should be fully charged, anything above that is overcharging the battery and could go in to thermal runaway with flames. If that is the measured voltage of a single cell, please take it off the charger as quickly as possible before it goes poof.
The charger should not apply any voltage above 4.2v in a single bay. If your battery or charger is measuring 5.2v on a single cell or bay, it is very dangerous.

I never thought about checking the battery in the DMM. You were right 007! I now get a reading of 4.22 volts. And I’m happy to see that the charger indicator lights finally turned green . Thank you sir!!
