bad chargers/bad ebay seller trustfure tr-006

hi everyone,

I just wanted to share my experience with both the ebay seller saftymind and the trustfire tr-006.

I bought a tr-006 from this ebay seller in the beginning of september from saftymind for $14.99. good price, charger reviews are ok. I bought mainly to charge my 26700s at 1amp.

5 days later i get an email that he doesnt have any in stock and it will be another few days. he apologized and offered a refund.

i declined a refund and said i would wait.

a week later my charger showed up - i had issues… details here - i think i got a dud charger

i emailed the seller and complained - he said he had never had issues like this before… BUT he offered to refund or replace the charger - i replied quickly and asked for a replacement… i also asked if he wanted me to send the original back or not.

4-5 days go by

i sent another email through ebay asking if he sent out a new charger and if he wanted the old one back

the response i got back was “sorry, my shipping guy was confused and thought it was an exchange … here is your tracking number xxxx xxxx xxx.”

zzzzzzzz…

at this point i was annoyed.

3 days went by before the tracking number updated.

i received my charger on oct 4th… almost 1 month after the original order was placed…

this charger HAD THE SAME ISSUES AS THE FIRST ONE

beyond annoyed i sent a message and left neutral feed back on ebay.

this got his attention and after going back and forth for a few weeks he gave me a refund…

rather annoying that i didnt get a good charger and it took over a month to get this sorted out - the seller did communicate ok in the end but im wondering if anyone has had these issues before?

just thought i would post here for anyone to reference if they were considering this ebay seller and /or charger

I sorry you had to go through that. I understand the frustration.

I have the TR-003 Chargers for 18650,18500,16340. I only used it for the 18650, as most of my torches take that.

I bought Two of them. After about 4 or 5 months one of the bays was only charging at 50% rate of the others! So 3 batteries would be done in say 10 hours and the fourth would take 15!

I don’t use either of them anymore,I guess you could say they are emergency chargers. I bought Two Nitecore I4 Intellichargers. They work great and charge the batteries in about 6 or 7 hours instead of 10,and they also can charge more battery types[Nimh] and sizes. I got One for $16.00[normally $20 to $25] from Ill. Supply…it was on sale.then they sent me another one FREE for a minor problem unrelated to the charger! That is Two for $16.00!!!

Sometimes things just happen even with great products, on the other hand you get what you pay for!

The word “Trustfire” reminded me of my beginnings!

I learned the hard way in the beginning from a lot[not all] of these companies from China! Most of the stuff the sell is junk, batteries are recycled and the lumen counts are grossly exaggerated along with the throw on their flashlights.

I will say this, even though their lumen count is grossly exaggerated and the throw is at best 50% of what they claim the Two Trustfire TR-3T6 that I have were worth the $35 that I paid for them. I use them as a dining room light sometimes! They do not get much use anymore because I have a half dozen or so quality torches,TK-75, TK-35, BST and 3 others.

Besides the TR-3T6, The other 5 or 6 lights I got from that same Co/ Distributor were junk,I did not know any better!
I rambled enough!!

It's probably not the same company. All good, popular products get counterfeited.

Well, I’ve had great use out of all my Trustfire lights, 2 TR-006 chargers and 26650 batteries, used for most of a year now regularly. I did get some more 26650s later, one is showing signs of degrading before the others…I think “counterfeits” are the problem again, as it looks slightly different in the raised positive pole than the others.

Did not want to say this but the Distributor/Co. was T-Mart,that is who I was referring to!
