4 AAA flashlight?

Hey Everyone,

I was wondering if anyone knew of any 4 “AAA” flashlights? I have a bunch of AAA eneloops and don’t have enough flashlights to use them all in. I don’t recall seeing any AAA flashlights that use 4 batteries instead of the typical 3 and thought someone here may recall something and offer a suggestion. The only one that I can think of off the top of my head is the old Energizer “double barrel” that used 4 AAAs’. Thanks for your time.

This Aleto light that looks a bit like an HD2010 takes 4 AAAs:

Go on FastTech or DX and search for POPlite T33 or T34.

The T33 uses 3xAAA and the T34 uses 4xAAA. I have both and I like the lights very much. Although I personally prefer the T33.

I just got the UltraOK one, silly hollow pill but AAA's shouldn't overtax it.

There’s also the Coast HP7. This is actually the only 4xAAA light I know of. With around 250 lumens, output is not too bad. And it seems to be a fairly well built light. But like most Coast lights, they are somewhat on the pricey side for what you get. Occasionally, they can be had for significantly less than retail on Amazon.

Appreciate the suggestions guys. I knew there had to be a few out there. So far, the Coast looks pretty promising, although not too budget friendly at $40. I do have a couple of smaller Coast lights that are very good quality. The Ultrafire is very tempting also, as I don’t have a 26650 light yet. If you know of any more, shoot ’em this way. Thanks.

The SkyEye F13 (Shadow JM07 clone) works on 4AAA's with an optional 4AAA battery carrier (see at FastTech). In fact, I would venture to guess that most all 26650 lights will work on 4AAA's.

If you like the Coast check out the POP lites. They are Led Lensers but half the price of the coast.

There is also the Nitecore EA4W.

Nice torch to use, but I think that there have been reports of reliability and warranty problems.

That's AA, not AAA.

Led Lenser M7, P7.2, and some older models use 4xAAA.

Yes, it is.

Sorry, I had misread the question as being about AA.

Hi rebelbayou. I think any single 26650 flashlight will work great with this 4AAA holder and a spacer. It has worked in every light I have tried it in. I put a thin piece of cardboard or plastic sheet in the tube so there is no rattle. It also protects the spacer from making contact with the flashlight body. You want to use the spacer on the negative end to avoid potential shorts.

If you don't want a loose spacer, you can solder a short piece of copper tubing to the positive end of the above holder. The hollow end of the tube will fit over the driver spring which will help hold it securely in position. To make it even more sturdy, you could make a plastic disk with a hole in to cover most of the length of the copper tube. You then glue the plastic disk to the top of the holder. I will be making some soon. When I do, I will take a picture and post it.

I look forward to your pic, ImA4Wheelr. Thanks for the suggestions about the 26650 lights also. I don’t have a 26650 light, yet.

If you already don’t have any, buy some copper braid (solder wick) to augment the contacts with. That holder looks exactly like the one that comes in the Utilitech 4AAA 300Lm light Lowes sells, and Old-Lumens doesn’t have a terribly high opinion of the conductivity of the metal.

I forgot about this. I had ordered 10 26650 tube lights to give away to non-flashaholic co-workers and such. The Aliexpress vender backed out of the deal later saying the lights were out of stock and no longer to be carried. There is a thread on that deal around here somewhere. Would have been really good gifts.

Since the lights went bust, I canceled the order for the 4AAA carriers as well. I was going to take those pictures when I modded the carriers.

You can always just used the carrier in its stock form with a spacer. I usually make my spacers by wrapping some pennies in copper tape.

There's the Lowe's 4xAAA at under $10. Not a bad light at all, for a back-up or kick around light.

I've been thinking the same thing. Tint looks like it might be fairly neutral in the OP.

It’s a bit further up in the kelvin range than a 3B but it’s nowhere near ‘blue’.
