Tenergy Charger ? Anyone using one ? $30 makes it a tad pricey just to test .

Especially since the photo shows it with a 14500, a 10440, a AA and a AAA.

cannot charge different kind of batteries at the same time"

I have been using this Tenergy charger for about a year, it charges all my l-ions and has not burned my house down yet.

Some day I might get the motivation to set up my hobby charger.

That Tenergy looks identical to my Trustfire TR-001

Which has been very reliable.

I ordered a Trustfire TR-001 from DX for friend and when it got here it was identical to the Tenergy charger with the exception of the paint and stickers. Is it OK to charge two different batteries at the same time with this charger say an 18650 and a 16340?

I use my trustfire tr-001 to charge different battery sizes all the time. 10440 + 18650 or 16340 + 14500...doesn't really seem to be an issue.

Tenergy looks nothing like the Tr-001 ?????

Yeah , has a switch for voltage range , 2 way or 3 way ? , oh well , made the purchase ,

It's just another Huangao charger, it's probably OK for the price but don't expect independent channels. I found my Huangao HG-1210W charger useful for LiFePO4 but not much else.

The first charger charges your batteries at a WAY to high current!
Anything above 1200mA will get your batteries really hot, which increases the risk of exploding when the charger misses it’s deltaV limit, but also degrade your batteries really fast! Your batteries wont make many recharges when charging them at a current this high…
I’ve been using this one from dx since the beginning…

It’s also very cheap, but more importantly is charges your batteries at 500mA so it’s very gentle for the batteries making it the perfect balance between prolonged batterie life and having to wait too long for your batteries to be charged.
Hope i’ve been any help for you.

The Tenergy that Tas62 is talking about is the one that E1320 provided a link for.

I don't think it's really 1200mA but also if it's "only" 1000mA it's too much in my opinion. It will charge battery fast but it will also shorten the life of the batteries.

I don't understand if ht channel are indipendent or you have to charge laways 4 batteries...

to my post........for clarity

Li-Ion DeltaV? Uhm, what?

Li-ion doesn't use DeltaV and you should charge an 18650 at 0.8C or less according to the manufacturers, which in the case of the 2400 mAh Trustfire that everyones uses is 1920 mA. Li-Ion cells won't get hot while charging unless there is something wrong with them.

The concept of "gentle charging" is totally wrong in Li-Ion (and also in Ni-MH but that's other thing).

Ok I see , MB [ My Bad ]

I looked it up and you’re right.
Sorry people, my bad :frowning:
