I have a 5.5 inch barrel. I’ve only shot a couple hundred rounds mostly 25 grains. But it’s holding up well. Most say you should upgrade to a steel frame if you want to use anymore than 25 grains of powder. It’s more work than a modern firearm but if your willing, it can be quite enjoyable. I even have a video of my fat ass first shooting my 1851. I was using pre measured loads that didn’t work out to well.
