Anyone have experience with the ThruNite Saber 1A 2014 Edition yet?

I recently found the newer version on ebay, and am wondering how it compares to the previous Saber 1A model. The 2014 model has a larger-diameter head that can be swapped with the included 1C body, so you get the flexibility of two lights for the cost of one. I appreciate any feedback.

I am no longer interested in this light after learning the head uses a foam donut instead of a spring in the body. For those who are still interested, here is an Amazon review on the light.

Nice light for 30$ (now on ebay lowest price). I´m happy

No clip? How long does the 1A run on a 14500 before it gets too hot?

No clip,
Other no clip that I like to use, Fenix E11, Nitecore sens AA, Sunwayman C15A, Rofis ER12.
I’ll use it with NiMH, shines more than the T10 (much more). Weight: 30g, any flashlight that weight quickly heated with 4.2V.

How does the firefly mode compare to that of the t10? Brighter, less bright, about the same? Does it retain the firefly mode with 14500/16340? Good mode spacing?

It looks like it is a cell crusher now with just a foam disk? No more spring in the bottom with anodized threads? I like the non crusher design of the old, but new wider head looks nice for a bit more throw.
