$24 6x SRK on Ebay [**WARNING: Probably a scam**]

Hi all,

This is my first post on BLF. I am an aircraft mechanic and work nightshift and untill recently thought my P14 was all that I would ever need. It was heaps better than my trusty rechargeable maglight. I did a bit of reading and last week ordered a 3x T6 NW SRK from CNQG, along with a heap of batteries, charger etc. No regerts, but I have just seen this…

Seriously? Why wouldnt anyone with $24 and some 18650’s buy this torch?

EDIT :- link removed, this is almost certainly a scam. Apologies to BLFers.

And no, I didn’t buy one

I just bought one and almost bought a second. Thanks for finding it. For those that live in the USA the pricing is a little different but it works thru paypal. I payed $21.99 US.

because the seller doesn’t sell lights before… this is an old ruse called switch and bait… the seller sold a lot of small trinkets for really cheap just to gain positive ratings then all the sudden sell lights that are in demand for cheap then they disappear… although paypal will refund you but they’re betting that with the shipping and handling will be over 45 days ( out of paypal guidelines)
unfortunately there’s plenty suckers in the world will fall for this ruse.
always check seller items… if they don’t have any other lights… then it’s a red flag.
stick with ebay seller as these redlog, cwtco, keygos as they are genuine seller with good reputation in selling lights at good prices

I am hoping your wrong but like you said PayPal is the one taking all the risk. Worst case I’ll get a free Hello Kitty keychain. lol

Scam

lol… me and couple guys from BLF were scammed before with unbelievable cheap HID lights.
although we got the money back from paypal… but it’s a nightmare back and forth with paypal regarding refund not too mention time wasted in between…
if you really want good price on those SRK, just add around $10 and you get yourself a real deal from wallbuys.
I paid about $40 from fasttech, and meh… it aint brighter than the original SRK :expressionless:

If it looks TOO good to be true….

And you can still get good deals ( just not unvelievable! deals)
on the SkyRay “Kungs” on Ebay from many sellers offering them in the
$37 range

True…but costs go up for everyone when PayPal is scammed. I would go ahead an cancel your order…if possible.

This is 110% a scam…has all the classic hallmarks.

I already have several SRK’s and don’t need another unless this one is legitimate. I have been buying from EBay for about 6-7 years now and have never been scammed. I won’t disagree this could be my first but I am willing to take the risk as I have before with Ebay. I have risked hundreds of dollars before on sellers with a lot fewer sales. We all pay the paypal fees so we don’t have to worry about wether or not a seller is “scamming” someone. I know the seller actually pays them but it ends up in the final cost just as labor, utilities and every other production cost does. I have no problem taking the risk for a few dollars.

Another seller tried to do the same scam on HID lights (At least I believe it was; another 15-20 days before the negative feedbacks start rolling in, if it was).

Had some 400, 25cent bead sale transactions then BOOM Expensive flashlights at 40-50% the going rate… Nope.jpg

How many hallmarks do you see? I see someone who has connections to a large source of Hello Kitty pendants. jk I know it’s a risk but I have been lucky so far with users that have just a few sales.

For historical records I am the one and only at this time.
More than 10 available / 1 sold

True, but it's very unlikely that the costs would go down if the scammers went away, or that the scammers would go away. Paypal doesn't even need the scammers. There are already enough people that will file a claim long before the 45 day deadline.

Guess it might be too good to be true, and on the other hand, if theses prices are really possible, then maybe other sellers will start sellng for this price. Maybe it is a new clone of clone with uber cheap components… Or maybe he just traded 80,000 units of hello kitty for a crate of B grade SRK’s… :-D. Whatever the case, I’m happy to wait and see. I hope Olympus keeps us updated.

100% scam. Even the photos are copied from other sellers. I would suggest removing the link from this thread, or at least warning about scam in first post.

About SRK6s in general: I got a SRK6 from WB and that was bad. Very loose / sloppy threads, O-ring didn't even touch the head, less output than in my "real" NW SRK (yes, the 3 emitter one which I reviewed over a year ago). The beam pattern is nice and floody, but that's the only good thing in that light (as stock, let's see what happens later if/when I have time & motivation to do something).

What does that mean? I have never heard of that before.

edit: i see the catagory now “Listed in category: Cars, Bikes, Boats>Pocket Bikes”

Wow. Listed under Pocket Bike.

Nope. Nope. Nope-ing the heck out of dodge.

I will update this thread when\if it ever arrives. I just hope I don’t get a hello kitty anything.

my last post unless I get shipping updates.

There's protection if you buy it from the .com site.
