Beam looks good:

And that reflector is probably elliptical.

Wow.  That looks real good.  That may be the brightest stock xml aspheric beam I have ever seen.  That reflector must be directing all the light that hits it within the area on the lens that the emitter image hits.

The light looks real good too.  Congrats on the new light led4power.

Doesn’t look too ringy when zoomed out, nice.

Wonder what the tailcap current is? Would be nice if they drive the LED at 3 amps Smile

EDIT: Looks like 2.1 amps to the LED, 7135×6 2.1A

I was wondering the same. that reflector should help when zoomed out, but when zoomed in it produces that ring. But i didn’t see the flood pics…

So the model is called B650?

If someone can find me a place to buy that light I’ll pick up a few of them (with extension tubes too please).

Oh BABY, I got this MONSTER today! Flawless build quality, mind blowing bright, has last mode memory (so much better than the ones that are in the NEXT mode every time you turn it on). High, med, low, SOS, random quick strobe. Takes one or two 26650’s (comes with extension tube). Zoomable (smooth buttery stiff action). All threads (head, tail cap, extension tube) were perfectly clean and well lubed. Doesn’t even make a sound when screwing it all together OR even when you slide the head for zoom in/out!!! Big Smile

Purchased from here (through agent http://www.yoybuy.com ): http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=19020830239

A pic or two (took them with my cell phone so I apologize in advance):

They are sold NOWHERE else Sad If you don’t live in China/Japan, you can’t buy from taobao Sad

You can filter it through google translate and it makes it slightly more readable http://bit.ly/1na3dIX

If you get an asian girlfriend she might be able to help you pick out an item to buy and have it shipped to their family in China who will then re-ship it to you, or you can use an agent like I did ( http://yoybuy.com ).

Good luck man. I’m SUPER impressed with this light.

Looks similar to the tulip shaped head ones that you find on ebay sometimes (most of them that say 26650 lie but there are some out there, I got two), but with a reflector and less blue in the beam, nice. If they aren’t too expensive, maybe a group buy could work? Especially if they take an extension for 2×26650 and maybe….possible MTG2 fits? Smile

Is the lens glass or plastic? If it’s glass unfortunately I think I might have to buy one! Silly

Have you pulled it apart yet and taken any measurements of driver space etc? I wouldn’t mind putting an MT-G2 in one if there is room for an adequate driver.

It’s glass Smile I think that’s why the head weighs so freakin much. Not taking the head apart yet Wink lol.

I believe the total price was $50 USD including the re-shipping to me by Airmail Express (there may have been cheaper options).

It got from Taobao to Yoybuy in 2 days and Yoybuy ordered it the same day I gave them my credit card number. Super impressed with their service.

I agree, a group buy is in order!

I see yoybuy.com has updated their website so when you paste a taobao link into the shopping cart it translates some of it into english, nice!

The direct “english” shopping cart link for this flashlight is http://www.yoybuy.com/en/show/19020830239/

I’m not sure if you need an account/be signed in for that link to work. If you pick “flashlight with extended barrel” that’s the flashlight with the extension tube, should be $30.25.

46mm is the bezel diameter, I guess the lens diameter would be same with the T20 give or take.

This might be a reasonable alternative. It’s a 48mm bezel, so the lens diameter will be similar.

these lights all suffer from a long focal length lens (thin) that  makes a tiny hotspot, while the Uniquefire UF-T20 has a much shorter focal length lens (thick, curved) that gives a much bigger hotspot, with the same throw (in other words: more output without loosing throw).

The UF-T20 is still not a 26650 utilizer or with 2 batteries in series especially, this seems especially tempting for MTG2 use…

I searched the model to see what you were talking about and found there happens to be a Wallbuys group buy for the UFT20 in effect, a screw focus instead of push/pull, I had thought about it before but $17.50 is more tempting… http://wallbuys.com/groupbuy/Uniquefire-UF-T20-T6-LED-1200-Lumens-Zoomable-Flashlight-18650-CR123A—5550

I don’t think you will be happy with the MT-G2 beam with an aspheric lens. I have tried a few different lenses on MT-G2’s and never really found one I liked at all.

I do like zoomies and if I could pick this one up cheap enough I would.

I’m a junky, I mod lights so I can sell lights so I can buy more light to mod so I can sell lights to buy more lights to mod.

I like the mtg2 zoomie as a novelty item. The honeycomb-esque die is neat.

What is it you didn’t like exactly? Beam collimation, output? You have much more experience in anything like this I’m glad for your input/advice Smile

I do like this even as a zoomie too, especially for around $30, with a reflector/large head and using 1-2 26650s anyways though. I just figured the amount of metal for heat sink, head size, reflector and rare 2×26650 would be perfect for MT-G2. If not that I’m sure modders would like it to increase power to an XML2.

I always have hope with a zoomie, then I get it and am disappointed, say I’m not going to buy a zoomie again, then later get tempted with another cheap zoomie…

According to Taobao, even if you are buying it in China, the price for this light plus extension including shipping is ~37USD.
In the description, the seller said 2.8A was also available. And it has XML2 0D instead of XML (also noticed this in toysareforboys’s nice pictures).
