HAIII XM-L Zoomer

Hi all, just starting to get into flashlights.  I was taking a look at cheapies on taobao and came across this little fella.  Anybody have any experience with it?  They claim it's HAIII anodized, does it look like it actually is?  It's being sold for ~$25, I might just pick one up if nobody's handled one before, it looks pretty nice to me.

Many thanks for that link, didn't recognize it with the words on it.  Looks like the search continues!

I'm not sure it's the same - the new one looks like it has better heatsinking. If Google Translate is to be trusted - it has a copper pill?

Also looks like a better reflector for flood, but not sure this has any meaning with the aspheric lens.

I really like the looks of this one:

Don't know how I'd get one though...

Rich,

I saw that one too, it is look very nice, uses 26650 batteries though, maybe I just haven't been around long enough but those aren't too common, are they?  I'm lucky I'm in China for the summer, so Taobao's relatively accessible for me (my Chinese skills are practically nil though).  I read something about Taobao agents though?  Perhaps you could look into that if something really catches your eye.

Triker,

Unfortunately, according to Google Translate and the Taobao reviews for the light I posted, it is not HAIII anodized, which was a major selling point for me.  The other variations of this design are quite a bit cheaper than this particular listing.

I did, however, find another potential purchase here, no zoom but it is stainless steel w/ an XM-L, which I personally haven't seen before.  Any thoughts on this one?  Their pictures seem very professional Smile I have no idea what most of them indicate though..  ~$34 for the XM-L version.

Taoboa is so awesome for cheap chinese goods. So many choices for table tennis stuff I can't get in the US.

I ended up ordering the original light I posted a link to, they updated the model a few days ago and I jumped on it.  This light is sweet!  Although I don't have much to compare to (a 1xAA Sipik SK68 zoomer and a 1xCR123 Sipik clone [no zoom, but the light looks identical to the SK68]), this thing is a beast.  The XM-L puts out more light on the low setting than the SK68 (single mode).  Also of note, the updated version of this flashlight has a magnet on the tailcap and stainless steel strike bezel.  Overall I'm really impressed with this light, the machining is very clean and everything came properly lubed.  I can try to do a slightly more in depth review if people are interested.  Also, I know this doesn't do most of you guys any good cause you're not in China but the shipping on Taobao was ridiculously fast, ordered at 2pm on wednesday and it arrived thursday morning!

Uh, taobao is like ebay. YMMV based on seller.

I'm glad you got a good light. It's ~$35, which sounds about right for that kind of deal. I wonder if it's a real deal tank007.

Has anybody found another source for this one?  If not, is it possible to order from that chinese site from US?
