[Mini Review] Supbeam L25A & T10

Supbeam L25A: $69.95

Solid light. Square cut threads, tail end is anno, head end is not. Brass pill and plenty of mass in the head for good heat sinking. The emitter is also mounted on a copper star.

Reflector is about 45x45mm. Anno is nice and clean, with no blemishes on the outside. Inside the head is some missing anno, but will not be visible to most buyers. Would have been nice if it was not there though.

Not sure how I like the UI. Turn the light on, and its in high. Loosen the head slightly, and it goes to low. Loosen, tighten, loosen within 2 seconds, and it goes into ramping mode. Here is where I got lost. It takes a few seconds to start ramping, so I was getting frustrated. It will take about 2-3 seconds, flash a couple times in moonlight, flash a couple times in low and then start ramping up slowly from low to high. Once it is at max, it will go into crazy strobe after a few seconds, then will start it all over after that.

Not real crazy about the UI. The head twisting seems kind of an awkward way to operate things. No one hand operation no matter how you look at it.

Supbeam T10: $114.80

Great machining, feels like it is built like a tank. Square threads on the tail end that are also anno. Can not get the head open. Can not even unscrew the head end of the battery tube. Looks to have a very deep reflector for the size of the light. Just eyeballing the depth with a ruler, I would say it is about 32x40-45mm. Again, the visible anno is perfect. Can not open it up to see if there is any imperfections on the inside.

The UI on this one is also pretty unique. The tail cap is pretty complex in its construction. The top of the tail cap turns like a dial. Starting from all the way turned left while off, here is how it is...

All the way left: Lock out. The momentary button can not be pressed

One click clockwise: Ramping mode. It is your typical press and hold to ramp, let off to save setting.

+1 click: Moonlight

+1 click: Momentary strobe. Only stays on as long as you are holding down the momentary switch

+1 click: Momentary high. Only stays on as long as you are holding down the momentary switch.

There is no clicky on this light, just the momentary switch in the tail cap. At first I thought it was just kind of gimmiky, but you can operate every function of it completely silent, and with one hand. I think this would also make a good light for a firearm, such as an AR-15

UPDATE: I had got the flashlight apart. The reflector is about 32x42mm. Real deep for its size. The pill is brass, and the emitter is sitting on a copper star. It appears that the brass pill is press fit into the battery tube.

Well thats my feelings so far on these lights. Some may have seen I listed them up for sale last night, and removed them this morning. I got to playing with them and I had started to like them more. I think the fact that I am broke right now kind of killed the initial playing with them...

They may or may not go up for sale at a later date though. I think the L25A will get dedomed and possibly a driver swap. Looks like the host will hold up to overdriving well

EDIT: these are NOT budget lights, they are quite expensive. The T10-l2 MSRP is $114.80, and the L25A-l2 is $69.95. HKEquipment has the T10 for $92.99 and the L25A for $69.99
