Emergency light, Olight i2, Klarus P1a, Klarus P2a

I’d like to update my kitchen cupboard emergency light. I’d like it to be stored with AA but be able to run on a 14500 if necessary as I can always charge 14500’s off 12v if I need to.

Can the Klarus P2a run on 14500 if I make a spacer for the second cell? Can it run on 1aa with a spacer?

Can the Klarus P1a run on 14500?

Olight vs. Klarus value, quality, efficiency? (Olight ships with XP-G2)

I’ve got Convoy s3, s4 as task lights and each have Olight i2’s as EDC but would like to add a versatile emergency light stashed in the kitchen cupboard. I think the 2xAA P2a might fell better in hand.

Thanks.

—Someone had commented in the WB (?) Deal Thread —that the Klarus P1A Can use 14500 battery. Have not verified myself.
( still waiting on my own P2A from WB)

—If the light is to be stored longish term—best to use LSD battery like
Energizer Ultimate Lithium that can retain energy for years.

Yup Klarus P1A runs a 14500 just fine. I do it all the time as my EDC. The P2A is an an awesome backup light. The heads are interchangeable between the two (and I’m sure the P1c too)

Well I’ve been playing with the P2A for a few days now. Very nice light. A little to long to carry in my pocket as EDC but fits beautifully in my hand. UI is dead simple so anyone can pick up and use when needed. This is a great light for around my house and yard. Well made, nice to hold, and runs on cheap AA’s so I always have plenty of spares.

When you put the head from the P2A on the P1A, does it output 150 lumens or 245 lumens?

They output the same as they would in their respective light. I have come to the conclusion that they are the exact same head and output differently based on the incoming voltage.

I tried taking mine apart but i had no luck, i think the head is two pieces that are sealed together by loctite
