When the DST first came out, everyone rushed to buy them. In the end HD closed them out for in some regions, half price or less. So you could gamble, and try to pick one up in a few months…

I have one that I snagged on clearance. I really like the light. It deserves to be driven by Li-Ion though. Stock current was somewhere in the 4.5a area, which is already pretty high for D-cells. After some simple tweaks, I was able to achieve a little over 5a J) . It’s a bright light to say the least.
