Streamlight SL 20X Switch Disassembled with Pics

Hi all. I'm in the middle of a Streamlight 20X mod and am having a fascinating debate with myself (at least to me) regarding which LED to use. I'm currently leaning on direct driving an MT-G2 since I'll be able to sink a lot of heat. So, I decided to see if the 20X has a decent or crap switch in it. Perhaps the biggest reason that I have always liked this light prior to this is because of the switch. It's feels nice and works well. So, I was not surprised when I took the assembly out of the light and found this:

I was pleased that it is a Judco having read the positive review from Old Lumens https://budgetlightforum.com/t/-/17404 . Sadly, this switch is not the same but I believe it should do fine with high current.

Here are the guts.

The flash makes the metal look a little brassy in the pictures, but it is copper.

A little cleanup and reassembly and it snaps back together.

There is more good news for anyone that should want to put a driver in this light. After removing the charging circuit board there will be "some" room for a driver. I'm certain an AMC7135 driver will fit fine, but some of the larger ones may be a squeeze.

The cavity is decently large with the circuitry removed. The plastic housing you see is only half of the switch assembly.

The two posts are the charging connections. They would be perfect to remove heat from a driver.

This driver might just fit with some judicious rotary tool work, but it would be tight. Looks like I forgot to wipe the flux off when I soldered that wire on there...

So, I'll remove all of the excess wiring and the circuit board and put it back in the light with the addition of some nice 18ga. I may improve the positive battery contact a bit as well. It looks a little shady.
