Do you shop at Costco?

Do you shop at Costco? No I don't expect an answer nor do I care :) but came across this article and thought it was interesting. Not sure if it is true or not...but have a look.

You always need to check prices. No store always has the lowest price on every item all of the time.

Someone has posted this here before. It's probably true, but I haven't bothered to check.

Here is a great example of ending in .97 and having the asterisk.
Be on the lookout for price tags with an asterisk. This means the product is discontinued. A combination of a .97 and an asterisk means you are getting a last chance good deal.
looks to be a sweet deal! so did they ever restock or does the article hold water? I'm headed down to state side this weekend. I need to stock up on some delo 400. It's almost 1/2 the cost as buying it up here! Even with the crappy exchange rate at the mo.

I have known about the .97 for years Sams Club uses .91 and other stores have their own codes.
Look for prices that end with .00 at Home Depot, but what has thrown me is that the DST which was already marked down to 12.00 is now 12.06

That info has been floating around on the net for while, as I recall seeing this article about a year ago. In fact this one seems to be a bit more accurate, the one on slightlyviral for example seems to infer that the * will lead to the best deals because it is discontinued, but apparently that is not necessarily so, apparently if it ends in $.97 the price would be irrespective of the * (in other words, the * does not make the price even better, it just means it is discontinued).

The original article also seems to contain some interesting tips, such as:

Do you know of an article for the home Depot pricing?
