DX, gun lasers and such. and Im back!

Well its been a while since ive been on here mainly so i didnt spend any more money on flashlights....

instead i spent over 3 grand on guns.... glad i was saving my money......

and sold my prelude to help pay for those guns too lol

ANYWAYS, that being said, there will be one big thread ill start putting all my built and bought flashlights AGAINST each other.

until then i have other matters to discuss.

Dealextreme has a plethora of red dots and scopes (btw the cheap 1x45 is my favorite one so far!) but kind of a lack IMO of gun mount lasers.

so, i was kinda wondering, since the whole FDA garbage, can i get a good 20mW PLUS green or red laser for the shotgun and CX4 (my two home defense weapons) somwhere else

DX will not ship to the USA any lasers over 5mW. Now i know your saying, well 5mW is plenty for home defense, HOWEVER..... there is a XM-L C2 on the front of my AR, and i will be building one for the shotgun and for the Beretta CX4. the CX4 isnt a big problem, 9mm which doesnt have alot of recoil. a 12 gauge Maverick 88 however... that might destroy anything i put on it. and with 750 blindingly bluish lumens in front of the gun, a 5mw DOES get washed out! trust me, already tested on the AR.

my tri-rail for the shotgun IS on backorder, so i have some time. and i dont pick up the CX4 until next week. instead my AR is being used right now as the home defense weapon.

any good ones people have tried out?

before the comments start rushing in about toning it down with that lighting. the lighting, laser etc is intended to SCARE the attacker so i do not have to ever fire the gun. but they must be functional so as to be useful in a home invasion. personally i would rather NVG and an IR laser so i can just paint his a** with lead, but thats not exactly legal around here.

The startled attacker will also hesitate and give me a second to figure out his intentions. if he has no gun, i know i cannot shoot him. but im sure i will scare the hell out of him (or her)

And while the FDA says no more than 5mW that is for laser POINTERS. they sell 10mW+ on the shelves, just for 100+ dollars. so i cant figure out why DX wont ship the gun lasers.....

so the original question. where can i get GOOD solid yet cheap impact resistant lasers (not scopes) for these weapons in 20mW+. red or green pref.

on july 4th i get to go test out my buddies wicked lasers 1W blue..... i is excited lol

You may want to check out Tmart.com. Many of the lasers they sell are available for shipping out of a US warehouse. Find one you like then use the live chat to find out if it is available from the US warehouse

when i was on here last i thought tmart was an "avoid them if you can" vendor. am i wrong?

Well lately members have had a decent transaction with them. granted there have been items universally advertised on the site and members have received somewhat different packages. They use drop shippers from all over the world, so depending on where you are will dictate what you get. Others have ordered lasers from them, so I will let them chime in on what they got/get.

ok i hope they see the thread and comment.

something with some real power could be fun at the range too!

I have 2 Mystery JG-016 20mw lasers from DX I have one on a Mini-30 and the other is on a Mossberg 500 they seam to be holding up OK. DX has it marked as a 5mW laser so it will ship to the US fine.

http://www.dealextreme.com/p/mystery-jg-016-5mw-green-laser-sight-with-gun-mount-1-cr2-included-13137

I have a 200mW I got from Gadgettown/Tmart in a 502B body but I don't know if it would handle the recoil. The 20mW on the Mini-30 is so strong you have to be careful using the scope or it will blind you with reflection through the scope if it hits something close, so the 200 would be overkill.

A friend of mine has this one

http://www.tmart.com/100mW-532nm-Lovely-Flashlight-Style-Green-Laser-Pointer-1CR2_p91188.html

He has not weapon mounted it yet,but says at its widest point the size of a nickle.

Reverse clicky

shipped from Brooklyn

Using an XM-L def go with something 50-100mW+ . at distance lower will wash out

I have the KD U2 XM-L drop in on the Mini-30 and trust me that Mystery JG-016 20mW does not wash out, not even close. You need a laser that is designed for weapon mount because the laser module needs to be mounted on springs to take up the recoil. I can open one up and take some pictures if you want to see the what I am talking about.

CDNN has a real nice front stock with a rail for $20 in there online catalog that should fit your Maverick.

http://laserpointerforums.com/

probably the best place to ask your question .. pretty much all they do is lasers and more lasers

The 502b's will definitely be flaky on a gun. Their pcb's are basically held in place with a few surreptitiously placed pieces of foam inside.

I had something similar to the "mystery" laser above a while back, but seem to have misplaced it so can't provide detailed comments. It was much better built inside.

ok, e1320, where on CDNN is that front pump with the rail? i was looking for something like that but already bought

http://www.opticsplanet.net/aimtech-warhammer-shotgun-mount-mossberg-500-12-gauge-black-asm-3wh.html

cause i couldnt find one. so instead i figured id go with the tri-rail and mount my stuff there. also the pump of the maverick is different than the 500. the only real difference, so those parts dont fit if its for a 500

that mystery does have good reviews

if you can pop up a picture of an XM-L with the laser on, that would be awesome. esp if you have a C8 or C2 body with an XM-L and 2800mA lol

not to be specific or nothing lol

i dont want a 502B, i want something with a dedicated mount, like the mystery, just didnt know they would ship it to the US. thats awesome if they do, ill buy 3!

also any with smaller sizes for a pistol in like 5-10mW? when i get the FN 5-7 i want to get a laser for it.

On CDNN click on download catalog scroll to page 144 on the bottom middle of page it says tactical forearm and grip set 19.99 that is the one in the picture.

Here is a picture of the Mini-30 it works pretty good like this. That is a Hugsby S3 with 2 17500 batteries and the KD XM-L U2 drop in on there. I might get a strike bezel for my 503B and put that back on the barrel and move the laser back to the scope.

I have a Lasermax rail laser on my Glock 26 and an MX6x on my model 22. I also have this DX red laser trigger mount on my 1911 here is the link.

http://www.dealextreme.com/p/jg6-red-laser-with-gun-mount-2574

cool. i meant a pic showing the XM-L on with the laser on so i can see if theres any washout lol

how much u get the mini-30 for? ive been looking at those

ah just looked at the CDNN page, that wont fit the maverick 88. none of the mossberg 500 pumps can fit the 88. its a special design that means no go.

at least i can fit the stock and aimhammer rail. ill be happy with those.

I got the Mini 30 from Buds I can't remember what I paid. My camera is a piece of junk I can't seam to capture the image but it is clearly visible even with the UF980L on high with the weaker of the two lasers on the hot spot.

wait a minute. you linked me to a 5mW laser. is that 5 or 20? i just realized it now lol.

the green one for the rifle/shotgun.

also, just realized green isnt so hot in cold temps (forgot about my green pointer). do we have a comparable red one in that case?

again something we can get over here in the 20mW+ range?

The green laser on DX is mislabeled as a 5mW it is actually a 20mW and sometimes higher. Search Mystery JG-016 and you will see other sites have it labeled properly. This means DX can ship it to the US without customs confiscating it. I have used mine in subzero weather just leave it in the car until you are ready to use it and then put it back when you are done, unless you have multiple 100 round drums this should not be a problem. All 3 of the red lasers I have are not clearly visible in broad daylight, were the greenies are.

Also if you order this one you will need to disassemble it and make sure the springs are tight before you use it on a gun.

alright. im trustin ya lol

just send me a link or description on the spring repair. ill order that when i get payed friday

You will see some reviews were the user broke there lasers. I took mine apart when I got it to find out why.

There are 3 small allen screws in the picture the laser comes with tools. The two end screws have springs under them and the top one is for preload. These springs are about the size of pen springs and they absorb the recoils shock. One of the lasers I got had the springs floating loose inside the head. You want to remove all three screws and carefully let the retainer ring slide out without having the springs shoot across the room. All you want to do is make sure the springs are seated and the allen screws are tightened to about the spot I have them in then sight it in and you are good. Other people have put bigger springs I do not think that is necessary as long as they are tightened properly.
