WTB: 17670 battery for a 6P

Hello,

Anyone have a 17670 battery they are no longer using?

I need a battery for my 6P so I can use the low voltage stuff in it.

bore it out and run 18650

have you considered boring it? an 18650 will fit in a bored body and they are not only more readily available, they are typically higher capacity.

Boring them is easier than you might think. You use a standard drill press and a brake hone from your local auto parts store. I'd practice on a piece of pipe first to make sure you have the process down.

Boring can be even easier than that. I did mine with a drill (use corded batteries dont last long enough) 3/8 drive extension, duct tape, and sand paper plus about two hours due to battery life. I am extremely happy with how mine turned out. Go to you tube and search "bore out 6p" and there is someone that gives a step by step tutorial on it.

Boring

I thought about boring it, but a Marine buddy gave it to me. I cleaned some sand out of it.
Think I’ll keep it stock. I’m guessing a single cell will have more runtime and should have more drop-in variety.

Don't mean to hijack this thread but does anyone know if these 17670's fit in a Fenix PD30? What are my rechargeable options? I've been using a single 16340 with spacers but would like longer runtimes.

17670 is a very tight fit in the PD30 and on mine (r2) the driver starts the low voltage warning at 3.65v so 1x17670 doesn't work well. I am presuming since you are able to run on 1x16340 that yours doesn't have the low voltage indicator so maybe a different driver.

Has anyone ever tested these 17670's to see which ones are worth buying?

I just bought a trustfire from going gear since I was driving through Atlanta and couldn’t leave without buying at least one thing. Wanted much more than just a battery, but Disney World with the family took precedence.
