2000 hour flashlight

Looking on Amazon this afternoon, I came across this Kindle book:

2000 hour light?

Any comments?

It’s basically just turning the flashlight to a permanent firefly mode. Basically if you’re already on this forum you can get all the info and more presented in that book just by searching for it.

Pretty much what ihave done to many LED modded lanterns for camping. Using 22 ohm & 47 ohm 1/4 watt resistors , LEDs, and multi-switches.
This moded Rayovac light below will run for weeks on the same three AA alcalines continously, using a 22 ohm 1/2 wat resistor, and a neutral white LED.

I also have a night-light in the RV that uses a Strawhat LED and a 1/4 watt 430 ohm resistor, and its been running continously since last September and still running on two AA duracells. 5 months so far)

My Zebralight SC600 will run for longer than 2000 hours if I just put it on firefly mode…. and it has the flexibility to also have much higher output if needed.

Having a flashlight permanently on firefly mode and incapable of doing anything else doesn’t sound that useful to me.

The light pictured is is one of those little plastic soup can lights right? Had one of those a long while back, no idea what happened to it.

There were two versions availiable of that Dorcy/Rayovac lantern/flashlight,
one small that used 4-AAs, and onle large that used 4-D batteries.
The one above is the smaller model, like this: http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/61pXu+14exL.jpg?ref=sp_dp_imgzm

Haha, yep that’s the one. I remember fiddling around with the slider.
