Polished Brass Tritium Key Fob with 2x12mm vials

This is a 20x8mm polished brass fob with 2 or 3 2x12mm tritium vials installed. It has a 4mm hole for your paracord as well.

It’s $45 for the 2 vial version and $57 for the 3 vial version excluding the usual $2 shipping and additional $3 for registered shipping with tracking number. Hope you guys like this.

I like that.

What about one larger hole drilled out in the centre with 4 tubes snuggled into it? (Assuming you don't have a short & fat tube the right size)

If I do that and slit the sides, the whole structure will fall apart. Unless you only want the vials to be visible from the bottom.

I don't follow you on that, but maybe I'm missing something about the design.

Do you have any pictures in full light?

Here you go. The slits are cut all around the entire fob leaving the core of the fob to support the structure. Let’s say if I empty out the core to contain the four vials, then slit the sides to reveal the vials, the fob will effectively be sliced into pieces.

I see now, yes that idea would not work.

I had thought that instead of complete rings there were cuts to expose the trits leaving material in the other two quadrants.

That idea did come to mind but then that would defeat the purpose of using four vials when only two quadrants are exposed by the slits. It’s quite a dilemma actually.

If the cut were deep enough i.e. 40% through from opposing sides it should expose quite a lot of the trit while not being too flimsy.

Would be a lot more work/machining time.

This is really making me want my own metal lathe.

Sorry for cluttering up your FS thread.

Yes it would involve a lot more machining time. No problem at all, I welcome all suggestions. And yes, a lathe is so much fun!

Bump.

I really like this, but its a bit pricey no?
And how long does tritium last?

Hi, tritium lasts for 12 years before it reaches half life. Thanks for the kind words.

Hi Eclipse any cool lights you recommend that use tritium thats fairly affordable? I saw some samples at CPF and they looked super cool.

Hello friend. I am in contact with a person who offers these for $110. Yours seem a much better deal

( I am interested in the blue one in post #1)

do you offer any other styles?

thanks,
pat

Hi there, I offer these too. These use 1.5x6mm vials.

Please excuse my ignorance, but what are these used for? Put on your keyring so keys glow at night or….?

These are tritium vials that glow continously without the use of external light source or electricity for 12 years before they reach half their brightness. You may refer to the below link for more information on tritium illumination.

That doesn’t answer my question…

Apologies for my oversight. Yes, these can be attached to keys using a paracord through the hole in the centre of the bead. They can be attached to flashlights, bags, knives, zippers, and anything you wish to locate in the dark. Hope this answers your question.

Yup, also good for diving! It is a good to locate a person when he has gone underwater.
