Build a "Lightsaber"

I have a friend that runs a camp down south (USA). I got thinking that he might be able to use a couple “lightsabers” for skit purposes. The evenings there are humid / somewhat foggy so the flashlight beams would show up. I thought I could use blue and red LEDs, and aspheric lenses.

Has anyone tried doing this? Think it would work? The lights would have to be pretty durable. Any suggestions?

The problem is, for a skit, the lights would not work well. The beam of a flashlight does not terminate, like a lightsaber does.

This is a Xsearcher. East-092 driver and dedomed XP-G2 on SinkPad. I also have the red and green pills.

I thought about that. It wouldn’t be quite the same, but still might be fun.

I just realized what else I need to order!

Oh absolutely it would be :D

What kind of a budget would you be working with?

They are on sale at flashlight connection now. U.S. store too!

I don’t know. I have done a lot of modding so I could build them from parts. Maybe $50-60 + batteries and a charger?

I think if you just google “make a lightsaber”, you will find plenty of how to pages and videos on it. Been done before many times over.

Well now, that’s embarrassing. I’m an I.T. nerd by trade and consider myself a Google Master. I’m the one people come to when they can’t find what they are looking for on the web. And I didn’t even think to do that!

I’ll look around at the Google results, but, nevertheless, I figure I might get some pretty good ideas here too.

Thanks.
