Hi everyone, we are very close to finalizing the BLF custom Tank007 flashlight negotiations. Here are the latest details...
Jim says that he would prefer to start with just one of the three flashlight models so as to avoid a huge minimum order quantity. He thinks we will have more bargaining power with Tank007 for the other two models if the first one is a success. So, please help choose which of the following you would buy first. The following details have been confirmed by Tank007 and Jim:
Tank007 TK-567 (1xAA or 1x14500)
Approximate price: $22

Tank007 E07 (1xAA or 1x14500)

- OSRAM LED
- neutral tint (not sure if this tint exists with OSRAM, but they claim they can do it)

- Additional cost accessory (90% certain we can get this): pocket clip
TK-737 (1x18650 or 3xAAA)
Approximate price: $24

I have voted for 3 x TK -737 , but will buy 3 of anything we end up going with to help out with the numbers.
Just a note that this will be the only e07 (and smallest AA light) on the market with modes. I'm surprised they're doing this for us.
I voted 567 but I would also buy the E07.
I voted E07 but would get any of them if there is just one on offer. My order of choice would be E07, 567 then 737.

I would 100% certain buy E07 and 737, but as only one can be chosen, I'd take the 737 first.

I would buy TK-567 only.
In my eye, there isn't any advantage of an XM-L zoomie with relative small head diameter like TK-737.
About the tints: I've not seen any neutral r5's for sale, so we should expect to get r4's whereas Osram Golden Dragon Plus are widely available in neutral white (5600K) with an efficiency of 130+ lm/W. I'd love to get details from tank007 about the binning of the Osram leds they would use (am I too late with this?).
I will buy at least one of any light that they offer us but I am in for two tk-567
So It's confirmed that we can get neutral tints now, nice! To me the TK-737 is of no interest, an X-ML zoomie with such a small lens sounds like something that just won't work.
The other two on the other hand seems like two nice lights, but I prefer the TK-567 and will buy at least one if that's the one getting selected.
1 x 737 is certain (and have voted). Was going to buy a 737 anyway.
Probably get a 567 too (75%) but not certain yet so not voted on that one.
An e07 with modes just seems like a near perfect pocket light. I'd be in for at least 3 maybe more depending on budget at the time.
I'd definitely be in for a E07(possible more, but I just voted one).
I too have my doubts about the XM-L zoomie, but if it gets good reviews and isn't completely sold out by the time the first people receive it from china, it's something I'd consider.
Wish I could commit to a 567, but going to have to wait to see. Too much cash going out the door lately, guys. Sorry.
Gah-so hard to choose without knowing how each of them will turn out. XM-L zoomies seem to be a disappointment, but I keep thinking maybe Tank will make a better one. The E07 is nice because its very compact, but I'm not sure how much output it will end up with. The stock E07 won't take 14500 and is not particularly bright on nimh. The Tk-567 sounds like it has an emitter I want but It doesn't have that trim size of the E07. What to choose, what to choose.
