I was playing around with my BLF Starry Light SA-22 and I love the off time memory very much. Unlike the Nanjg driver I always have to leave the light on for more than 2 seconds to allow the driver “memorize” the current mode.
So is there any flashlight or driver which has off time memory? If there is driver like this available I might buy it for modding.
That's how the memory has to be, set in after power-off, since many flashlights use Nanjg drivers (or the same concept) unfortunately the memory function is a compromise. Try LD-2C, LD-29.
Or modify (add one capacitor) the Nanjg drivers and flash Star firmware.
I was always completely against memory and often against modes too on throwers (need them on my EDC’s tho) but then I started experimenting with lock time in STAR FW and now I’m a believer in both multi-mode throwers and memory. With a 1sec or under lock time the light can be operated in momentary mode without changing modes and when you do need to change modes the one you switch to is memorized almost instantly.
