I picked up four of the 16340’s I’ll probably put a nanjg driver and a nichia 219 in them.

I didn’t pick up the Fandyfire, simply because I have a bunch of throwers already and my budget is tight this month.

Lightscastle doesn’t always have the best prices but I have never had any problems with their service.

I’m a junky, I mod lights so I can sell lights so I can buy more light to mod so I can sell lights to buy more lights to mod.

Curious if someone has one of those 16340’s in their hands? Looks like a decent little light based on the pics.

There was a thread on them a while back. Not from Lightscastle though. I think people liked them but had gotten some that were less than quality. Old with grungy contacts. But it wasn’t lightscastle. I have seen these for a while and keep meaning to pick one up. They are usually about $8 or more so the price is right.

My little 16340 is still in among my future lights to mod.. The screw in pill is probably the thinnest I have ever seen. The aluminium bit below the emitter is about 1mm thick. Its not that mod friendly IMO. When that is said. Less than 5$ is pretty good value.

The STL-V6 have a hollow pill and a large MCPCB (32mm?), atleast if its the original. You can not replace the MCPCB with a 20mm Noctigon. Unless you do like I and build a copper pill inside it. If its the "original driver" its easy to resistor mod to 5A. The price is very good, but I never understood why the light was so expensive in the first place. I know many like/liked the light in the past, but I actually preferred the ZY-T13 over the STL-V6..

please tell us rookies what that driver, and LED, will make the light do. More modes, higher lumens? I am aware of the tint factor. Thanks!

I find this one funny
http://www.lightscastle.com/product/trustfire-tr-d013-7xcree-xm-l2-t6-3-...

their categories are junk, bike lights has car headlights, head band lights, bike lights, light bulbs and almost everything else under the sun

Also the percentages don’t add up, for example this is not 67% off like the claim

More modes, but still no blinkies and yep the great tint.

Thanks. Picked up the 16340 and a couple of the 502Bs. Can always use extra toolbox/beater lights, especially for $6.12.

I wish they would make that 16340 in an 18350 size instead! That would be awesome!

i bought the 16340 flashlight, i already have one in NW that i like. i also have 2 more; one with a greenish tint that i don’t like too much, and one is more purple, but with a donut in the hotspot. i hope i get one like my favorite one…
i also bought the 3-mode AA flashlight and a 502B, i have been thinking about buying one of those for a while, hopefully the quality is ok.

didn’t need any of those, just couldn’t stop myself from buying them Oops

Thanks for the heads up! Love tiny little 16340 lights!
Looking forward to everyone’s thoughts/ experiences with this one. Also, never bought from lightcastle, perfect place to start – 4 dollar order….curious to see if I will be buying more from them.

eta: I think I see the BLF effect in action!

I. have one of the 16340 lights I got from Ebay.
I think it was $7. The beam is greenish. Sad
For $4 I might try one of these Smile

I have said NO to the Convoy L4 for several days now! NO NO NO. Yea, I want one BUT …. I have several C8s already. It’s a great light, at a great price, and they have sold like 50 of them to us. I’m still saying NO! I even filled out the website order page and put in the coupon code, but closed the page before ordering it , that’s the secret!

I want the Niwalker Nova MM15 for $220, over 5000 lumens! Hoo-yah!

Got the STL-V6 a couple of months back from Lightscastle for the same price. So this isn’t a special deal it seems.

Still it’s a great price for the light. The STL-V6 is a decent quality light which can be modded to throw like crazy. I do have most of the parts in, but don’t have the time yet to mod it.

I got my three 16340 lights 5/19, one DOA. Frown

The others are very nice except for the worst centering ring I've ever seen, opaque black, 3.5mm high. I replaced it with one of the clear ones from FastTech and output apparently doubled.

I don't see how to open the pill. Undecided

Hi,

I got the Smiling Shark ones from BG awhile ago, which I think are the same. On mine, the pill just screws out from the battery end of the head. There are two holes in the driver that I can use with tweezers to unscrew it.

Thanks, I tried that yesterday, couldn't budge it. No sign of glue as far as I can see. From the front, the shelf the LED sits on unscrews a bit until it feels like the LED leads are twisting up preventing removal. I'm guessing the driver or contact board it press fit, the shelf portion is screwed in, then the LED is dropped in and soldered.

i got mine some days ago.
i liked the looks, size and style of the 502B
the 3-mode AA flashlight felt nice as well, and the 16340 was so-so. the centering ring was awful, created a dark halo around the hotspot. so i cut it down and the results got better.
i have 3 similar 16340 flashlights bought from banggood earlier. The first one that i got had a nice NW tint, so i bought a couple more. unfortunately one had a greenish tint, and the other a violet tint. i changed one of them to a xp-e just for fun, and the other one should also be modded into something better when i have inspiration/parts/time.
