As of January 16th. I have a few custom builds (including dropins) that are going to require some weekends of work. I’m putting off my made to order dropin production until mid June. I have (3) 1.4amp 1 mode 2.8-6v drivers. (these will run off 2 cr123a)

2.8-6v 1.4amp 3 mode drivers 2 available. (these will run off two cr123 batteries)

these dropins run best from one lithium ion battery. It’s possible to use 2 cr123a for short bursts but prolonged use can cause the driver to fail or the batteries to overheat. If you’re interested in a 2 cr123 setup please pm me

Can add 7135 chips or remove as well, 350 or 380. You can choose your amperage and modes ( number of modes, and mode levels)

A fully assembled dropin weighs approximately 50 grams. Most other retail dropins are 20-30 grams.
These are not ordinary dropins, also not extraordinary, both of which are reflected in price.

Copper is added into the pill as seen below and driver is potted on the pill side.

I tend to make dropins as I would like them and any extra that I do is included in the price.

All solder connections will be made with silver bearing solder. All thermal epoxy/grease is Arctic brand (is it better? I don’t know but it’s what I like to use.)

All components are new and unused and will be tested before shipping.
If there are any special requests you’d like I can try to accommodate you. I may need additional time and may have to charge extra depending on the specific needs.

Price 35usd this includes shipping to USA and Europe. Rest of world and Canada, sorry it’s 39usd (add 28$ for each additional dropin) please add any additional prices from above on to this total (blf17dd/so8 5$, uv emitter 15$, copper pill 15$, ar lens 4:money_mouth_face:

Tracking number extra(pm for exact price)

packages will be shipped via small packet air. 6-10 day delivery.

Any questions, and orders you have please pm me.
Some things to have in mind when you pm; led tint, reflector (smooth/op), driver, amperage, modes you would like.

As always first come first serve, pm for paypal info once the dropin is complete. Because life and work can interfere with my build process it can sometimes take a week to finish.

There’s not much love for p60’s anymore and my price seems steep. It takes many hours to make, shipping is expensive (~9:money_mouth_face: and paypal takes a couple of dollars. Please do not gift any payment.

Edited may 26th: quantities updated new products added If you want a specific tint it will take a week or two for it to come in. prices have been raised due to new processes that require more time and different materials used.

Thanks for looking

I love this idea of experienced members offering build services for those of us like me who can’t really build or mode.

For the record I think there are a lot of people still interested in P60 format. It just doesn’t get a lot of press.

Jep, it’s a great opportunity, that i immediately took - Thanks!

The possibility of legoing your flashlight to your momentary taste or needs is unbeatable!

Bump for the long weekend.

I can make 1 this weekend. I can do xpg2 or Xpe2 in orange peel. Or xml2 in smooth or orange peel.

I do have a xpg/xpe adapter for xml reflectors I can use if you’re ok with that for xpg in an xml smooth reflector.

Assembly options are above.

Bushwhacked.

Bump for the weekend. I’m working on a few lights this weekend because of the rainy weather.

I have almost identical offer at my local market (no international shipping, just in the country) except:

- Arctic silver 5 or ceramic2, they are just too expensive for what they offer,

  • dedoming, people here just don’t understand what that is and explaining how that works would be “easy” as explaining how to shift gears with a manual shifter to someone that does not know what car is.
    But I offer
  • custom programing, you say what mode/s you want and I will do that.

With fast next-day delivery, I charge 15€ (about 20:money_mouth_face:… no one is even asking…

I think I recognize that....."not even asking"

Yeah there isn’t much interest. That’s ok though because it gives more time to spend making other projects. I have a few p60 builds for myself as well. This offer is simply so others can have a customized dropin. (except modes, the qlite and nanjg are decent for a p60 though)

I spend the majority of the build on the heatsink. Copper under the led inside of the driver cavity. It takes some time to get it perfect and it feels great when it finally is press fit and soldered or adhesive fixed.

I agree that ceramic2 and silver are expensive, I have them so I use them. I do find putting ceramic2 on the reflector threads does help though.

I’m not a fan of dedomed emitters, I have a couple that throw well but the tint is ugly.

For the money there are a lot of dropins that do the job for a fraction of the price, it’s all about how they are made. Like anything in our hobby attention to detail is all the difference.

These are two dropins that I’ve recently finished.

The left is a nichia 219b on noctigon, soldered to pill with a 1.52amp qlite 4 mode driver and orange peel reflector. The reflector outside base has been sanded smooth and a brass ring added in the reflector groove.

The right is a xpg2 r4 5a on noctigon, soldered to pill with a 3.04amp qlite 4 mode driver and smooth reflector. Reflector outside sanded smooth and has a band of copper braid in the groove.

Both have spring caps, braided springs and reflectors adhesived in place. These are both going to the same owner.

Thanks for looking

Nice little project bushwhacked. Is that copper braid wrapped around one of those P60s? Projects like this start slowly, then word of mouth builds.
Do you cut your own copper rounds for the underside of the pill?

Thanks Ouchy.

It is copper braid 2mm wide pulled tight so it encompasses the majority of the gap. The hardest part was getting it soldered together without the braid sucking all the solder. Since I use tin/silver solder and high temperature I was able to kind of drop a bead to join it. Doesn’t look perfect at the joint but it did turn out well.

The copper rounds are actually pennies that I file down and then sand and polish until they fit perfectly. This makes a mess when I use Arctic alumina expoy on the sides because the heatsink has to go in straight down. I would use copper but I’ve got a pretty good method with pennies and they turn out awesome I usually use 3, some dates are thicker though.

The worst part about using ordered parts is making the pill flat, the machine that makes them always leaves a dip and uneven shelf. I have a 16mm c clamp and some old MCPCBs that I use to straighten and level them out.

I started my flashaholism on p60’s and love them. Building them is fun and enjoyable for me.

Sounds like you enjoy paying attention to detail.
I mentioned the copper, because I’ve found that those sanding drums for Dremels grind down copper fast and evenly. Who’d of have thunk it? I always ignored them thinking they were only good for wood.

I use the sanding drums on my dremel 4000. Lately I’ve tried with the cutoff discs. Just to chew off the lip of the penny. It works pretty good.

Until I got my dremel drill press (it works ok, not for drilling metal though) I had pennies flying all over the place. Those drums chew copper up, sometimes a little too aggressive.

This is one I’m working on right now. It almost fits. When it’s at this stage I use 600 grit paper until it just fits then I polish the edge until it slides to the bottom, force it out, then adhesive it in place.

If I’m going to change emitters in a pill for the future I’d solder the heatsink in.

Really, go Canadian. 1996 and older are 98% Copper, older U.S. are 94%.

I have around 200 1996 and earlier Canadian pennies and 50 or so American pre 1982. That America one is 1964 and was thick so I used it. I usually leave the driver side of the penny face intact, it’s usually a maple leaf, this time it’s Lincoln or whoever that guy is.

…and hey guys, yeah i finally got these two and they are both top notch and really kicking ass!
I can only say: Get them while they last!
Greetings from Germany and very kind regards to bushwhacked, really damn good work!

Hi Jeremy, i’m really so deeply satisfied with the dropins you made for me, i would like to shout this out to the whole community!
Oh damn’d, how could i convince the P60-loving-people to get a dropin hand-crafted by you? :~

Hey gals and guys, the dropins i received from Jeremy are really top notch - really! They are heat-managed the best, i could think of and are cranking out a full sh*tload of f*cking awesome blinding bright light, it is really delightful!

You’ll love it!

PS: Sorry Jeremy, for being so enthusiastic, cause i just impressed some fellow flashie-guys with the dropins, you made for me. I think, they’ll contact you for getting their own precious jewels made for them by you.

Thanks Uli. The ones I’ve made for you are better than any I have made for myself.

I’m glad they impressed some others, they are some very nice dropins. That nichia is especially nice, I’m surprised how cool yet not cool the tint is. Creamy white with no blue is very nice.

Hope you have fun with them and thanks for the words of encouragement and the bump to the post.

…long story short: Contact bushwhacked and get your own dropins, you won’t regret it - promised!

Oh lol.
