Being a flashcoholic (i hope write it correctly)

First of all i have to say i'm finished already....

i know, there are lots of gurus for me here... They know lots of things about flashlights brands, types, hosts, emitters, measuring their currents, lumens etc. For example i asked Don ( who is a real favorable guy) for a charger and he suggested me Turnigy accucel-6 50 W something and i wondered where will i put batteries to charger :) why i'm talking about my idiotness is i'm a really a novice here.

My journey started with an experiance. in 2010 february, we were piloting stuıdents in the aegean cost of Turkey (12 persons). One night we drunk too much in the city centre and missed the service to the hotel. So, our options was finding a taxi, hitchiking or walking. Taxi was expensive for our budget, hitchiking was impossible du to almost no traffic, so we decided to walk. There were no street light, no moonlight..After 15 minutes one of guys opened his flashlight... that was the moment i fall in love that object. İt was so bright that i never saw before. he told me it was 200-250 lumens something led. Brand was brightlight, i couldn't find this brand on net..

1 month ago, one of the friends from our student group discovered DX and told me about that... then i discovered powerfull flashlight world. And after making foolish purchasings i discovered BLF :) Then manafont, Kaidomain, hosts, drop-ins etc :) After 1 month i ordered UF th-t60, UF c3 SS, Uniquefire A1, TF F-15(off course with SM reflector from MF), TF Z1, TF F23, UF 501B host with MF UF P60 XML dropin, UF-980L, batteries, chargers approximatelly 350 USD with some other details. My wife dosn't know the total cost hopefully, she just asking questions after yellow envelopes :)

Most of my orders didn't arrived yet. But i can tell you after all, i think i will never find the perfect flashlight which will affect me like brightlight at that night. So, being a flashcholic is someting like looking for a perfect torch that you will never decide about its perfectness :)

lol, I'm still seeking the perfect budget flashlight, too. Have only spent hundreds of dollars looking for it.

There is only one perfect light . And we are all looking for it .

And this is the basis for judgment: that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

I want this perfect light.

The "perfect light" is a myth is doesn't exist and it never will and the flashlight companies know this just be happy with the fact we are trying to find it in the budget forum this way we can get so many more close to perfect lights.

Wow Boaz is so deep =D. For real though.

Yes you told it correctly. The story of your epiphany and descent into chaos is an often told tale around here. I liked your version.

I find a L2 body with XM-L 3 mode lo-med-hi Kd driver and op reflector pretty close to my best of.

The search for the "perfect light" is what gives us the excuse to buy more and more of them. If I found the perfect light my flashlight addiction would be SOL, so let's keep this bit of knowledge between us and away from our significant others. ;)

its an old story, one afternoon after ups delivered another bike frame to my door for me to build into a useful piece of art,

my wife (who can spend money in her sleep and as such is rather tolerant of my hobbies) surveying the scene, said: "how many bikes do you need?"

my answer is the only one that works, "one more."

same with lights.

And never will.

All we can hope for is an approximation to it.

But it is fun - and not very expensive - to get a whole heap of them to find out which one works best for you.

I own more than 150 lights, but none of them is the perfect light. Some of them are better suited to certain jobs than others.

Not sure I know what the perfect light would be other than not the one I'm using at any given time.

And that is part of the fun.

How many lights do I need?

One. That can be relied upon to emit photons when I need it to do so. So that's about 10 then.....

This time of year round here (57oN) it basically doesn't get dark at all.

How many lights do I want?

Rather a lot.
