Which AA charger?

Hey, my charger is not working great anymore - xbox remote is not lasting even 1 day! I already have an Xtar WP2 for my 18650 flashlight batteries but I need something for AA/AAA. Does anyone have any suggestions? So far I have found a Sanyo charger that comes with 4 Eneloops for £16.99 on amazon. It is the MQR6 quick charger with single cell charging. I don’t really want to spend anymore than this, is this the best bet or should I consider something else?

Also slightly off topic but are eneloop HR-3UTGA better/newer than HR-3UTGB?

There is a 2A 1 hour quick charger made by Soshine that costs $14 or less.

I’m not sure if you can find it elsewhere for cheaper.

Its generally considered a good value for money charger in most forums.

I bought one for myself but since gave it to my mother after buying a MAHA C9000.

I have a Maha MHC-204W charger I am very happy with. It was about $40 US. It charges in 2 hrs. Idk if a slower charge is ideal

Is it the charger or the batteries that have gone bad? What batteries are you using?

If you don’t mind spending the money, the lacrosse bc-700 is a great charger…
See ChibiM’s thread about eneloops, you will find all the info you need…
Cheers

See my wishlist :stuck_out_tongue:

See my thread there.
I got a the BC-700 for less than the money you want to spend. The postman delivered me a card to go fetch it at customs  I will go day after tomorrow!

Thanks for the suggestions. I can’t seem to find the Shan or lacrosse bc-700 very cheap in the UK.

I’m sure it is the charger since it is saying they are charged as soon as I turn it on, even with batteries that have only been used a few times. I am using Uniross Hybrio 2100 mAh batteries. It is just a cheap, old Uniross charger I am using that came from Argos I think.

So the choices at the moment are:
The Soshine ezarc mentioned
http://www.dx.com/p/soshine-u1-4-channel-quick-charger-aa-aaa-6194#.U0yGpXkiYiE

Sanyo charger MQR06-E-4-3UTGB incl. 1x4 Eneloop AA 1900 mAh

Also came across this one for £10.99 from 7dayshop, seems to have good reviews?

Out of your choices: Go fot the Sanyo. I’ve have this one as well. A nice simple charger.

If you would like to test & refresh batteries:

AccuCell BC-700 Amazon 26.18£
.
Accucell iQ-328; Amazon 24.95£ delivered

Or have a look at the chargers at NKON

This one looks good, but I don’t have experience with that charger. Like the BC-1000.
PS-NC1000 Intelligent Battery Charger

Technoline BC-700 for under 20£
.
Delivery is around 6.60£

The Shan charger can be had from FastTech for 16.25 GBP (5% less if you use “BLF” coupon before checkout) if you’re prepared to wait for shipping from China:
http://www.fasttech.com/products/1421/10001892/1136301

It is functionally the same, just different casing. You will need an figure-8 lead since the included lead comes with US plug.

You might want to consider the group buy on the Opus BT-C3100 as an option?

On second thoughts I might spend the extra and go for one of these so I can test and refresh batteries. Is there much difference between the BC-700 and iQ-328? They look very similar to me. Is this Accucell BC-700 the same as a lacrosse? There seem to be a lot of versions around including Technoline etc. Are they clones?

I don’t think I can wait for shipping from China for the Shan!

Thanks.

I have neither a Technoline or a La Crosse BC 700. When I needed an extra charger, I was looking for these as well. On the end was a decision between Maha C-9000 and the Opus BM200v2.
Technical details:
Technoline and
La Crosse.
For me, it’s seems that the chargers are identical.
The AccuPower is not listed in their website http://www.accucell.de.
And I did a mistake. The iQ328 is not released by Accucell but AccuPower.

The Opus BM110 looks like the iQ328. I only own one of the “clones”.

The BM110 was released later as the BC-700. Could be a newer model or a different vendor (here Opus).
BC-700: 200/500/700 mAh per channel.
BM110: 200/500/700/1.000 mAh per channel. 1 or 2 batteries (channel 1 and 4): up to 1.800 mAh.
.
The difference between the BM110 & BC-700 is that the buttons for every channels “disappeared”. It’s still possible to configure different program modes / currents for each channel.

.
If you can wait, maybe the BT-C3100 Group Buy would be worth waiting, as Flitsmal already mentioned.

The Shan charger has discharge (for capacity test) and refresh. It does not have internal resistance test.

Does anyone know if there is a difference internally between the BC-700 and BL-700? More specifically these:

http://www.batterylogic.co.uk/technoline/technoline-BL700.asp

I was just going to go for the one from Amazon since it comes with interchangeable 3 pin and 2 pin plugs. I emailed battery logic and they said:

The two models are not identical and the BL-700 is of a higher specification. The charger you have mentioned on Amazon is the standard BC-700 model with a UK plug included.

Surely that’s the same thing?! I am still considering the C9000 but it is probably overkill for me plus it’s £17 more than the BC-700. I only need to charge on the odd occasion.

Thanks.

“higher specification components” could mean something real (better capacitors? as those seem to be a frequent failure point)
Maybe brand name identifiable components rather than cheap generic stuff?
Or components actually tested to be within some specification rather than, well, cheap generic stuff?
Or less range “plus or minus” on the spec. Just guessing.

— as in “BL-700 uses only the very highest specification components”
Anyone looked inside to see?

It’s not clear how “and four independent charging channels ” is related to the claim about better quality of the components.

Or just a typical sales pitch with no real proof to back it up. Unless they can provide specific examples of improvements over the original’s design, I’d guess you’re just paying more for a rebadge.

That’s the thing though, they are the same brand Technoline from the exact same company. It might be more convenient to have an interchangeable 2 and 3 pin mains plug so I think I will go for the cheaper Amazon one!
