EXPIRED - Convoy L4 Tactical XM-L2 U2-1A ------- $24.55 Shipped -------(user choice of tint for $1- $1.50 extra)

Well, I asked from Banggoods and I received:

Convoy L4 Cree XM-L2 U2-1A 1000LM Side Switch LED Tactical Flashlight

use coupon code: BGL4GB and the price drops to $24.55 for the U2-1A tint.

You can change the tint to any of these for an extra $1.50: T4-7A, T5-5B, T6-3B, T6-4C

Price is the lowest I have seen anywhere with this discount! Now is the time to buy!

Review here: Mod: Convoy L4, a good mod host? Is it even necessary to mod?

and another: Review: Convoy L4 Cree XM-L2 T5 5B

damn you.. this one is one of my favorite light ( I bought 4 of them already and sold it ) I already ordered another one from Wallbuys.
shoot.. I was trying to stop buying flashlights for awhile as I have about another dozen coming sometimes this week from China Smile
just ordered 6 more Solar Storm SC-03 for friends and family.. now my finger is itchy again to pull the trigger on this wonderful light, especially now for lower price from Banggood Tired
aaargh.. I need help

btw: you can ask Tom E to make this light even sweeter.. he can pump out 1700+ lumens out of this light Big Smile

The only way to do a great work is to love what you do.

Ever since I missed out on that Warsun MX-900 deal I reposted a few days ago, I have been having "Non-Buyers remorse" and haven't been able to sleep good at night ever since.

Anyways, since I don't have any C8 lights (hate the way they look honestly), I figure it's about time I get something similiar, but very nice on the eyes. Plus, I am a side-switch flashlight junkie. I honestly prefer them any day over rear switch. Seems this L4 is the best of both worlds!

How can I mod it to push 1700 lumens? I found the thread where DBCstm got 1642 lumens, but then the side switch doesn't work anymore Sad

I would love to make this thing push 1700 lumens, with the side switch still functional Smile

Then again, do I really need to mod this light? Ok maybe try at least, like the others!

Show me the way DayLighter!

Plus man, with the tiny amount of lights you have, how can you pass up a good deal like this?

I think I will have to pull the trigger on this one, too nice a light Love

Is there a similar double-switch flashlight in a more pocketable form factor, but still 1×18650? I’m looking for something to get along with this one that sports the same nice UI (which makes momentary-on possible) but smaller, in the same premium-budget category.

Thats a pretty good question. I myself would love a mini version of this Convoy L4 as well. One thing I really look for when buying is the quality of the build. Maybe some BLF gurus can chime in and lets us know of a 'Mini Convoy L4 version, that takes 18650"?

The Yezl Y3 will cure that.
Long thread about it here.
Mine is the best thrower I have with a very well regulated driver. I get the same light output with 1,2, or 3 26650. Haven’t modded it yet. Might become an Mt_g2 light.

Go for the 4* or 5* range and thank me later. 8)

3* looks like snow white (or “pure” white) and is ok for general use, where cool white in the 1* or 0* range look blueish or purplish, but 4* and 5* range are warmer and somewhat “vanilla-ish” (lol) which is pleasant and a very noticeably warmer than cool white LEDs, it renders skin tones and foliage better and gives greater depth perception, at the expense of very little luminosity.

I ordered mine on April 4 and is on it’s way from BG. It seems that they bumped up the price and give you the 28% discount. I used the same code and it worked out to be the same price.

It is too bad that I missed Simon’s promo for the L4 for $5.

I wonder exactly how warm the T6-4C is. I actually like the tint of my SRK T6 when I was comparing it with one of my XM-L2 U2-1A flashlights. Was putting both at a bush last night, and the SRK has noticeably better looking colors. I do know that I bought some high CRI XM-L2's a while back and man is the warm color uglyyyyy. I'm definitely more of a cool white/neutral white person

4c will be a neutral tint. I’ve got a few 3c lights and they are okay. I tend to prefer pure cool white 1A and mostly stay away from 5+. A good 1A has no bluish or purple hue to it, just cool pure white awesomeness. Smile

Where you tend to see cool white with purple/blue hue is in cheapo budget lights where they use cheap emitters to save on costs.

There are a lot of pics showing beamshots of different tints; don’t have time to look em’ up though, sorry.

Just put the coupon code in the coupon code box on the right side. You might have to click down on the coupon code box for it to open up.

Edit: Oops... Typing on the phone is so slow. Sorry just seen you figured it out!

is the switch on the rear to turn the light on and off, while the side switch is for changing modes only?

Tough call. I have a Tangsfire C8 with the East-092 driver and a Convoy L4. They are really similar lights. The hotspot on my C8 is a tiny bit smaller, but the overall spill beam width is exactly the same.
Pointing both lights across the room towards my light meter (I’m too lazy to measure the distance) the C8 reads 3500 Lux, the L4 reads 5500 Lux. I can not see that difference. The tighter hotspot on the C8 seems slightly brighter to my eyes. Maybe because the C8 is a cooler emitter.
The side switch on the L4 is not waterproof. It is water resistant, but not waterproof. The C8 should be much more water resistant that the L4.
The big difference is the user interface. I like dual switch lights. Every time I turn on the light, it will be in the same mode. I can turn it on and off as fast as I want and it won’t change modes or go into some weird super disco strobe mode.
If I could only get one, it would be the L4.

Yes. Rear switch can only turn on and off. Side switch can only change modes when the light is on.

I forgot- there’s one other big difference between the C8 type lights and the L4. The L4 has a buck, or boost/buck driver. I know it’s a buck driver because it can run on one cell or two and it has no PWM. I’m not sure if it is a boost driver though. Haven’t had time to test that.

Thanks for the info TT. Does anyone know where I can get a STAINLESS STEEL BEZEL for this flashlight? I think I read it can take a C8 bezel, but not sure. Please let me know.

For some reason, I love a light with a nice shiny stainless steel beezel. Adds a little class!

Hey Texas Toasted, since you have both, can you tell me if the bezel on the C8 will fit the L4? I'm wondering if I have to order a C8 with a stainless steel bezel just to put one on the L4. I have been looking for 2 hours now and haven't found any 42mm-44mm stainless steel bezels. Thanks

Thanks blfdemigod and TexasToasted. I do have a Convoy C8 and it is an amazing light for $15. I like the design but I’m not sure if I want to spend more money on XinTD although judging by the reviews and comments the reflector, noctigon (now soldered to pill) and AR lens are step above the normal C8. On the other hand L4 has no pill and fitted with a good driver. I also like the momentary function without having to interrupt mode memory unlike the nanjg. Well, L4 here I come!

Your welcome, harry. By the way, my order shipped already with tracking Smile It's always good when your order ships within 24 hours of ordering, especially from China, and this was my first time buying from Banggood! Hopefully it will be here in the next 2 weeks!
