You really don't need a 4th, lol. Let's not be selfish! But... you could always buy some for relatives and close friends. It makes the perfect light,as it takes AA's instead of lithium ion, so don't have to worry about safety. Man, I could only wish someone would give me this for my birthday present! But my fiancee thinks I have too many flashlights as it is! She's so wrong! At $50 even, this is the perfect deal!

I plan to update my signature once I get this beauty. I'm gonna place it right between my SRK and my L2T Smile

Well, that is somewhat annoying. Mine arrived about 3 weeks ago and it certainly cost more than $49.99.

I do agree though, it is a fantastic AA light!

I had to go Cool White! I really wanted to go Neutral, but I'm so scared I might not like the tint. I know, I'm chicken. They really need to make a 3rd option for people like me, Neutracool...

And I love that this light comes with a nice stainless steel bezel. One of the few lights that I will own, that I will probably never, ever mod one bit! Well, maybe not never!

The hardest question I have to ask myself is, do I put Eneloop or Eneloop XX in it, lol. I have so many eneloops laying around, having a 1 year old son, I bought like $250 worth of eneloops. Can never have too many batteries, lol. I like the 70% after 5 year storage regular Eneloops provide(but only 2000mah), but love the 2500mah capacity Eneloop pro has (70% after 1 year storage). So hard to choose!

I like warm emitters, but I can settle for neutral. I also have a box full of Eneloops, but my kids are grown now so I don’t have near as many AA operated devices around the house. That was why I jumped on this deal, my batteries need a new home

Ya, I have about 25 AA Eneloop pro, and 40 regular AA eneloop with nothing to put them in. Anything and everything that can take a eneloop has an eneloop. I guess I bought too many. I'm feeling the urge to get 1 more D40A, probably in neutral white.

This is one of my favorite lights that I have never owned, up until now, and feel like I honestly need at least 2 of these to feel happy. Ideally, I really want 4, but that's just selfish of me, or is it!

It's really bad when I have to sneak to the mailbox every single day, before my fiancee gets home, so she doesn't know that I bought another flashlight. I feel like in a year from now, my collection is going to be as big as DayLighters, lol. Ok, maybe not that big!

I have the neutral version and it isn’t very warm at all. It isn’t even cooler than a 3C tint…

I am running mine on the latest gen Panasonic Pro AAs that ChibiM is selling.

Nice. I think I paid 80 bucks for mine. I’m a big fan of the D40A.

Thanks for posting this one. I hope BG delivers. It is my first order from them. Sounds like a great light and I’m glad it is available in neutral. Does anyone who has a neutral have a guess on what tint bin they are using?

I think I remember reading selfbuilt said it was either 3B or 3C, but it's in that selfbuilt review thread somewhere. Alot of people seem to love the neutral white in the D40A though.

On a side note, I got a nice surprise from Energizer this morning to my Paypal account. I'm $40 richer because of the Energizer 25th anniversary rebate. Looks like I might just have to order the neutral white D40A now!

GARGH! Bought a CW. Then I read that Vinh loves the NW version… goldilocks tint he calls it. So I sent an email to Banggood customer support to cancel the CW, and then I ordered a NW. THEN I read Selfbuilt’s review (post 62 where he compares CW and NW) and he said that not only is the NW a little green tinged (which I HATE….hello olight?) but also about %10 less output.

Now I’m wishing I hadn’t cancelled the CW. Should’ve just waited for both to get here and decided for myself.

Anyone else want to chime in on tints??

From what I read, I don't think I read one negative comment about either tint from any user. Even selfbuilt himself praises the D40A NW despite the fact it has a slight green tinge. Seems to me, that you can't go wrong with either one. I'm now thinking of getting a 3rd one, and letting Vinh mod it, to see if it's really worth getting modded.

Holy CRAP!!! 1480 lumens from a vinh modded D40A running on 4xAA. Wow!!! I'm SOLD!!! Might just have to get all my D40A modded. Thanks for that find Shimey!!!

D40A is a great light and that’s a great price. I paid much more for mine but I’m not complaining. Well worth what I paid for it.

Back atcha. Thanks for this deal.

And yeah. Be careful going here. Much money to be disappeared.

I cancelled the cancel with Banggood, BTW. I now have both CW and NW coming. Will decide which I like and probably sell the other here…

YOU TAKE THAT BACK!!!

We got offered some bargains on Gen 3 Eneloops (Rouge and UOMO) here, I ended up with 40 AA and 16AAA. If they had a sale again, Id buy more just because.

This is a bit o a bargain isnt it…

Lol, Ok I take it back. 3 of the Sunwayman D40A only take 12 of my eneloops, so what do I do with the other 50+ AA eneloops left over? Buy more D40A? I did say 4 was my sweet spot. If the wife finds out, I am in big trouble!

well, none available anymore at Banggood, figures! By the time I watched all the reviews and decided to order one they were out. Neal said he would contact the manufacturer about getting some more … not holding my breath however. What a great light!

I read 7 pages of Vinnies D40Avn. He’s asking $99 I believe and people rave about it!

what a great price.. damn these days Banggood remind me of the Wallbuys’s crazy sale, my wallet is lot thinner these day :_(
if I didn’t have one of these.. I would definitely grab one as it is brighter and nicer looking too than my Nitecore EA4

psst.. anyone wants to buy NIB nitecore EA4?

Just talk to banggood and they told me that it's OK to order and that they will ship out the new order's next Monday or Tuesday, as that's when they plan to get more in stock. So not too bad, waiting for them to ship 4-5 days at this $50 price. Get it while you can, because I have no idea how long this sale will last at this price!

I'm not sure how I feel about that $99 D40Avn. that twice as much as the light cost! For that much money, I will just try the driver mod myself. Heck I could buy 2 D40A and ducktape them together, lol! After looking at the reviews though, this flashlight looks like a piece of cake to take apart and mod! At least I hope so Smile
