List of Flashlight Hosts
Over the last fortnight, I have been scrounging through several online stores, perusing the various hosts available for purchase. What I have found is that hosts alone are limited in variety and are mainly 18650-suited bodies.
I understand that many DIY-ers dismantle pre-built flashlights just for their hosts, however if you’re looking for one from scratch, hopefully this list will save you some time.
This is by all means not a complete list, so feel free to add more and I will update accordingly.
Please see Don’s P60 sticky for more information on P60 hosts. Some of the hosts listed on this thread will be P60 compatible.

Nice compiled list…THANKS!
What! No AAA?
Disclosure:
I can only find one at the moment, the A1 (which I wrongly put under AA prior to your question).
Know of any others?
Here’s some hosts from CNQG and Fasttech
- LEDs & Other Stuff - - UI CheatSheets - - CRX Flashlight Builds - - CRX Stuff for Sale -
Thank you! I added more to the list from cnqualitygoods.
Slim AA zoomie
SK68 Clone $2.46 on ebay!
C2 host for $11.63 at Tmart.
Thanks for the suggestions Pregulla! Those look like great lights, however the list is for hosts only without any pre-installed LEDs and components.
However I’m sure people can still purchases these (as you have linked) and dismantle.
I don’t know if this list of suppliers will be of any use to your search but it might contain some vendors you haven’t looked at yet.

What a useful resource for DIYers! Thank you!

This is an awesome list of a lot of hosts currently available, so thx
Some hosts are to find at several vendors, sometimes even cheaper. But they can be googled easily, so this list is a wonderful start to get the overview.
I didn’t know the xintd x3 was available as host. Nice find.

Brilliant, thanks for compiling this
I notice you have the X-power 18650 host listed as “generic copy of S6”, don’t let that confuse you, I actually prefer the x-power to the convoy. Machining is perfect (not that there are issues with the convoy), ano is perfect, threads are perfect, at almost 1/2 off the convoy it [the x-power] is the better light.
I’ve only owned one, and one S6 so maybe my samples were exceptional (good for the x-power and nothing-special for the convoy) so take that into consideration but IMO the x-power is the better host.
RIP SPC Joey Riley, KIA 11/24/14. Now I am become death, the destroyer of worlds.
Thank you cereal_killer, I have made a note next to the X-power now.
These lists just prove BLF will give you OCD

Nice list!
OEM D4 is the generic Convoy M1.
The OEM Zooming mentioned in OP is not similar to Convoy M1.

Thanks RaceR86. Sometimes it’s hard to tell which is which and I forget which ones I’ve already seen and listed.
Thank you for pointing that out! I’ve changed it on the OP.
Could you add which ones are P60 compatible? (Solarforce L2 and L2M are the oens I know)
http://www.fasttech.com/product/1409307 is a good cheap option.
Hi ozlight, I’ve updated a few of the Ultrafire lights to show whether they are P60 compatible. Hope it helps!
Thanks for this list. Very useful
Thanks for the great list.
The Sky Ray S-R5 is sold out @Focalprice, doesn't say if it's only temporary.
Thank you for nice list here!
Has anyone found something like this Courui host anywhere?
http://www.lightmalls.com/highly-bright-1-cree-xm-l-3-modes-1770-lumens-...
I have been looking something like this and also something big host that has space for like 6- or more XM-L2 leds. But no luck so far.
Has anyone ordered the N-light b2 stainless AA host? It’s still the but no pictures.
Anyone?
Any updates on a AAA host ?
the A1 is showing as not available on the link
Looking to build a single programable mode or LMH no memory lamp to clip to an aircraft pilot headset
From Jersey, the Island, not New Jersey, but old Jersey..the real one
Actually I’m looking at possibilities as well.
What I found so far:
I intend to take a gamble and buy Trustfire MINI3 and see if it’s wortwhile.
Thanks for the names, I’ll look them up.
I want one that I can clip with a belt clip to a David Clarke DC10.3 aviation headset. I currently have an 18650 el cheapo AliExpress zoomy with electronics from Mountain Electronics. So I am happy with any size AAA lamp as it is sure to be smaller than the 18650
Does need to be able to be opened up though to take some single programmable mode driver or a LMH no memory always start on Low type driver… no flashing modes.
Any idea of PCB sizes on the list you gave ?
