Looks good, I almost bought one (but I'm broke right now). Good pictures on the ebay link, it looks like you can remove a small bit from the battery tube to fit a cr123 (or 16340) battery, nice!
well, it works on both AA and 14500, not sure about cr123 /16340 battery !!

Just ordered 2…at $5.33 can’t be all that bad…and worse comes to worse…I will mod them and put in either a XP-G or XM-L, they look like pretty decent hosts (interesting design and machine work)

How does the focus mechanism work? Do you turn the bezel or does the finned part of the head slide?
Also, does the battery tube section break down into different sections? It almost looks like the 2 knurled sections are meant to be removable.

I think it was 18sixfifty who said that an XM-L didn’t work that great with a zoomie. I have no knowledge. This LOOKS like a nice light, form wise, and I almost pulled the trigger on one. I was going to say ‘can one really get a good light for $5’ , but then I recall all of my SK68 clone purchases! YES!
XM-L does fine….the zoom focus is off is all…instead of a nice pretty image of the emitter it’s now a fuzzy circle…but that really isn’t a problem…it definitely makes the light MUCH brighter than the stock XP-E in a stock SK68 though
Is it a waste…sure…was it fun to fiddle futz with a light with my kid and see him have a good time…heck yeah
Honestly I think a XP-G (G2) would be MUCH better in a SK68
This looks like exactly what I’m looking for!
I want to pick up a cheap AA zoomable light to throw in my camera bag.
Using AAs, it’ll share batteries with my flash units, and being a zoomie, I’m guessing it won’t have a hotspot, and that’s just want I want for something to light pictures with.
My only concern is, is it a horribly blue light, or fairly white?
The closer it matches daylight the better it’ll work for this.
It doesn’t need to be really bright. If it’ll put out 100 lumans on a AA, that would be plenty.

Kirbot, that’s an SK68 clone, it is everywhere … but this one is new, hopefully it will be better than the good old SK68…

Yes, it’s exactly like the SK68, same driver, same push pull zoom head. Nice thing is, it’s much thinner in the body, head is the same size.

14mm driver uggh, my 15mm SK68 Nanjg driver won’t fit…dangit

These manufacturers should come up with a common size and stay there…dang!
Doubt the manufacturers see any benefit in standardizing pill size.
I keep hoping — seeing more and more variations of the same basic light with what looks like the same hollow aluminum pill, leaves an opening for someone to start turning out nice solid copper/brass pills that fit these clones and have room for better drivers and LEDs.
Or are they varying the threads from one clone to another?

Yes, we keep being willing to buy new lights eagerly, and suggesting improvements.
Sometimes, someone there seems to be listening for a while.
No, A change in the outside appearance is NOT making a new light.
Ditto for other things you make. Don’t listen only to the corporations that place the big orders.
Listen to the people.
There’s a slogan there somewhere if you work on it a bit.
