Thunder AC6 Smart charger and 18650 Battery

Hello everyone my name is Isaac and I am new to this forum, I am a Vaper (electronic cigarette user). I just purchased a pair of Panasonic NCR18650PF 3.6V “2900mAh” with a cheapo trustfire TR-001 charger, but I forgot I had a Thunder AC6 Smart charger that my brother gave me a few months ago. There are many connections in this box and I was wondering if I could somehow use this charger which I’m sure is far better than the one I bought to charge my unprotected Panasonic batteries? I have no clue of the right terminology to use or even to begin researching whether or not this is possible. Your help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

And the manual

Thank you XV-750, so if I picked up: 4 way cradle from Fasttech (SKU 1279305) that came with separate wires for each positive and negative end and made a 1S4P cradle out of it. I would connect each wire to one negative and positive wire leading to my banana plugs and into the AC6, would I be able to charge one battery at a time? sorry if this is a stupid question? Thanks so far Gents, any other info would be greatly appreciated.

One at a time is fine, or 2 ,3 or 4 also of course.

I recommend 1 amp per battery on the LiPo setting.

Use a multimeter and check that all batteries are within .5 volts of each other.

hey guys, will this cradle work? I’m trying to avoid overseas shipping…http://www.ebay.com/itm/2x-Black-Plastic-Battery-Storage-Case-Box-Holder-for-2x18650-with-6-Wire-Leads-/330966203625?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4d0f1f7ce9. Thanks again.

4x18650
they will even ship first class mail.
i got a bunch of these to bulk charge 18650’s with my triton.

Awesome, thanks snakebite, checking out the website now.

And I tried one of the digikey ones - they are a shorted battery waiting to happen as it's very easy for the metal tongue to slide under the insulation at the positive end and short oiut.

I had to force a thin stiff bit of plastic in at the positive end so that the battery could lift up without catching the tongue.

Aha - I found a thread about it here: https://budgetlightforum.com/t/-/17705

Well I guess the one from digikey will have to do since the one from ebay is “serial”… really dont know what that means but i will google it.
I saw on that link you showed that many guys were curling the tabs inside with a pair of needle nose pliers, thinking that should do the trick and prevent the shrink wrap from getting caught…

Hey ElHeisenberg, greetings from another vaper/flashaholic! Funny how both hobbies overlap…

The ebay ones are probably in a 2S1P - 2 cells in a serial configuration, 1 parallel deep or not really paralleled at all. 1S4P is the cells are all paralleled (all positives together, all negatives together), with no serial (positive to negative) connections. I just bought 6 of the 4x 18650s to make 4S1P charging cradles, and 5 of the single cell holders for when I want to do parallel charging. I bought six of the 4x to use 4 with 2 spares so I can charge (potentially) 16 cells in one go.

I have an iCharger 106b+ powered by a DPS1200FB power supply. The one you were given is certainly good enough to start charging 18650s. You can start like I did by charging one at a time. Get a couple magnets and use those to stick the charging leads to the ends of the cell. It’s slow, but it will allow you to charge 18650s with better control than the normal cradle chargers that many use.

Hey keithd, thanks man I appreciate the help. I saw that magnet idea. im gonna be getting some switch magnets from fasttech for my nemesis mod, could I use those? It states they’re NdFeB(N45). Since I do not have the cheapo charger coming from Slowtech and my batteries are already here, I’m going to be giving the magnet idea a try for sure.
Yup It is funny how both these hobbies overlap. I definitely am glad I’m here I feel safer trying this stuff asking someone with experience first.
Thanks for your help man.

I hope You guy can see this. I havent plugged it into my Thunder AC6 yet as I dont want to blow my face off… LMk if this would work: http://s925.photobucket.com/user/monin75/library/Battery%20Holder?sort=3&page=1

Thank Gents

That will work

Also at the end of each lead is a banana plug. So to this safely, I’ll turn on the AC6, and connect each banana plug lead to the + and - outlet on my AC6? Thanks again sorry for the stoopid questions.

Use the LIPO setting and I'd suggest a 1 amp charge rate

Thank You all for your help. As for my Trustfire cheapo charger that will be in from Fasttech I’d say by saturday or early next week (not bad considering I placed the order last Tuesday and It just departed SF post on its way to San Diego). I’ll be using the trustfire as a battery holder.

Thank You all.
