……

I’ve got one lying around. The threads collapsed and locked. I had to saw it in half with a hacksaw.

This one will also by the look of it need a replacement switch.

That would keep you busy for a while.

Would you send it to me if I cover shipping? I’ve read threw your build thread several times and believe I could turn a new body for it as long as I could get the cut-off threaded section out.

Do you have the switch?

Cereal killer. I think the cost if shipping this dismembered light wouldn’t offer you any kind of savings. I dug up all the pieces. The switch is in another light.
There’s probably more damage than is visible because before I gave up and sawed it in half. I attacked it viciously with a hammer on my cement balcony. I was in a blood frenzy. It also came brand new with a badly blemished reflector.

I just came in here to bump this thread, didn’t notice you were from up north when I offered that. Thanks anyway. Did you ever find out why it locked up? Just had threads or some other problem that developed?

Everyone else: still looking, going to give this another week (as I’m swamped with projects for other people anyway) but after that I’ll just give in and order a new one. If you have one your not using or you didn’t get to building please pm me.

It always started getting really rough and grindy on the last few turns. My new one does it too. The machining on the threads is awful. They’re thin and uneven. I think just the pressure from the battery springs caused the threads to break away and lock up. Even though the COURUI is a beautiful looking light, the design and machining is atrocious.
