You may very well won't win your PP dispute, if the package really has left HK and bound for Aus and the package is registered (they do that for anything above usd15).

You may wish to order from USA as they are generally faster by say a few days to 1-2 weeks.  I have had shipments that took 21-40 days from like 10 different aliexpress vendors, Manafont, Kaidomain, DX, bestinone.net and even cnqualitygoods.

BTW, I have heard of 3 cases in which packages got lost by USPS, the latest being a Zebralight SC600.

I'd believe generally sellers are not responsible for goods lost, some sellers do send out the item again as a gesture of goodwill. If you sent via Express courier or purchased insurance then you could get your money back, but it will take long.  The best is "a guarantee" by the seller to send another package out, for eg lazerer.com.  They guarantee the power of their lasers ($2 additional) plus guarantee goods received.

I always order with one-off Paypal payments rather than through a PP account.   That way, at least in the UK, I can request a ChargeBack from my bank if goods ordered and paid for never arrive.

I cant get my accont activated there on dx. Before week or two customer service representative on dx asked me to give my account log in and password so that he can check the problem and fix it.

I didnt gave him. Is this acceptable, to give him my password and account login name?

Because, you see, someone can spend my money on paypal with this info...

And I really need my account activated (I cant participate at dx forum, I dont have dx points, etc...)

Please advise

Generally they don't need your password, just your account name or order number. Unless you use the same password for DX and PayPal, giving someone your DX password still won't let them get into your PayPal account. You should not use the same password for DX and PayPal. Seems like to me they could reset your password if the problem is your forgot it or it isn't working.

Even with Express Checkout, you still have to log in to PayPal. Nobody would want sellers being able to access their PayPal accounts directly!

I don't know any site with that payment procedure, and I wouldn't deal with such sites.

My most recent DX order was made on 8/5 and the status of the order has just been updated to "Shipped" today, on 9/7. It may be just this order, but they seem to have been much slower this time around.

As far as DX goes...........when it all falls apart and you get a dud, item never arrives, or is taking forever to ship:

Paypal Buyer Protection works.  If the buyer does not receive the item, it's on the seller.  If the shipper messes up, the seller is the one who used the shipper to get the item to the customer.  It's not the buyers fault if the shipper screws up and the item never arrives.  The buyer paid his money to the seller.  The seller has to file a claim with the shipper and deal with a refund or insurance.

Always file a dispute if it's been over 40 days (but before 45 days).  Yu can always drop it.  DX tries to scare you into thinking that the process is now on hold until you stop the dispute, which is BS.  I've even had DX send me notification that a refund has been issued to my Paypal account....which was never done.  They WILL try to stall you out of your 45 days time limit to file a PP dispute.

Don't fall for it.  Just tell them to issue the refund or you will escalate the dispute to a claim and wait for PP to do it for them.

FWIW, I ordered an UltraFire c1 XM-L T6 USA warehouse, a TrustFire R5-A3, a universal single charger, and a couple of 2 packs of ultrafire blue 14500s on 8/13/11. Got the C1 in about a week or 10 days. Poor bubble wrap, slight dent on bezel. Over all happy with the light and shipping. The China stuff arrived today 9/22/11. OK bubble wrap. Nothing damaged. The 14500s came in plastic carrying cases - sweet;-)  My EDC holster now has the R5 + 2 spare 14500s!

Can't believe how difficult it is to wait for the items to arrive. However, the person I told to get the same things got her order in about the exact same amount of time -- a little over 3 weeks.

So far I am a satisfied customer.

How much, averagely, passes from the moment your dx order is marked as shipped and you receive tracking number, and moment when this tracking number becomes visible on tracking sites?

Should be instant. The tracking number gets registered at the post office before he can even give it to you. Át least that's how I understand it. Haven't experience being given tracking number that isn't active right away.

Yeah, that is how it's supposed to work. Like most retailers, DX buys tracking en masse so the tracking number goes live (at least as far as the tracking backend is concerned) the second they scan the label. But it can take a few days before it really becomes visible on HKP's tracking website and truth be told, with HKP, all bets are off. I've even had items show up at my door which, according to their tracking, were still in transit. And, depending on where you live, HKP's website may not tell you more than when your package left Hong Kong.

DX is getting faster it seems. I just placed an order two days ago and I got the email today that it has shipped from the "fulfillment" center. I'm sure it will still take 2 weeks for me to receive it but it is faster than most of my prior orders.

I haven't ordered from DX in quite a while so maybe this is old news to some but in my experience this is fast (for DX).

Has anyone else noticed that it now takes 2 seeks to get a refund for a canceled order from DX?

I just canceled an order that had been "waiting for supplier" for 20 days and it was easy to cancel but the automated response says that I will get an e-mail notification and a refund on 11/23/2011.

I haven't canceled anything for quite a while but I don't think it used to take any more than a few days.

I have, took almost 2 weeks (8 working days) to refund... and that's after hurrying up in live chat 2 times.

After I posted this same remark/question on the DX forum site I got an email saying that my account has now been refunded but since I used a credit card it can take from 7-21 days for it to show up on my credit card.

This actually sounds reasonable and was a quick response for DX. I think when you pay with PayPal you get credited faster but it probably still takes that long before it's in your bank account.

So I guess to me it's a reasonable response. Taking my money and "waiting on supplier" for 20 days with no result is not reasonable however (to me).

I managed to cash in some old dx points for a couple of pairs of xtar keyring lights. It wasn't easy to explain.

Q:How many do you want?

A: As many I can with my points?

This went on for about 5 messages before I was told I could have two items. (4 in total)

One was DOA. lol and no I didn't bother to report it. Needed a new battery. I suspect it was turned on in the mail.

I think today should be "cancel your DX order day" and tomorrow should be "DX reorder day" using the 11% discount code Smile This would at least give everyone an 11% discount for their long wait!

In my case I'm not going to do it just because I'm tired of waiting but it is an idea!

I think that's the area where DX could improve the most. Just give more accurate info on whether each items is likely to be available in the usual time frame.

Some items are now being shipped in 2 days which is faster than it used to be. However some items (apparently) aren't in stock in their supplier's warehouses and customers need to know that before they place an order.

I'm sick of trying to get in touch with DX or Manafont, I think they give you so much crap that you have to do, they think we'll forget about it or they keep asking for the same thing over and over after you sent it to them 10 times by then the warrant is over. That's how they play their tricks. I'm fed up of getting shit, when you read about it it sounds great and looks great. They make sure they send out a good batch and then screw the rest of us that have to work hard to afford their CRAP!!! I wish a local Dealer here in the states would stock some of the finer Trustfires and Ultrafires and Sky Rays, and FandyFre and do QUALITY control, I would pay $5-$10 more for that relief of knowing it's going to work when I get it and not have to spend days and months trying to tell these so call business owners that you sent me crap, just make it right and everyone would have alot more respect for you and your company. I use to fly R/C Airplanes and race the 1/10th scale stadium trucks and dealt with Tower Hobbies and many more and I never had this kind of customer service where they really don't care of losing you and your money.   I've said this before while I was going back and forth with Jim and Ella at MF I kept on spending money with them over $500 and you would think I'm showing you that I trust you and I'm showing my good faith that I'm still spending my money with you because there is no reason I thought that a big company would go through all this BS over $34 and I even said just credit my MP $25 worth and when I order just put a prepaid stamp in my order and I will gladly send them back to you......I hope everyone understands why I'm not going to stop, I work hard for what I can get, it don't fall off my money tree.......and I wish we would all write to MF and DX and Stand up for each and everyone that they have screwed.

Thanks everyone,

Rick Stewart

It takes a while after the refund from DX for PayPal to get that to your credit card to the point where that shows up. I think the period can be up to 20 days. DX can be difficult to communicate with with you always either get your money or the product.

I think that is a standard response that is generated immediately when you submit a complaint to DX. It is meaningless. Do not close your dispute until the money is in your account.

I have bought several (4) I think orders from DealExtreme and I always got what I ordered. That said, sometimes it took a long time to get those things, so I would only suggest using them for hobby lights or stuff for yourself. If you have any sort of timeframe that you need to keep in mind, like if you needed it for an upcoming trip, or if you are buying something for a gift, I'd not rely on them.

Has anbody had similar experience??

You always get either money or goods but DX is known for their "fake" refund emails they send out whenever you open a paypal dispute.

I have gotten one such email, but in the end I got the goods so I dropped the dispute.

Which is one of the reasons why I find it odd that DD has an "avoid" label while DX does not. It is almost as if they are judged by different standards.
