Help find my EDC

I’m looking for a 1AA EDC with 3 specific features. It must be a rear clicky (no mode changes via twist or side button), can tailstand, & have a moonlight mode. Also, I tend not to like bulky lights like the ZebraLights. I prefer a slim profile. Thought some of you light gurus might have a suggestion.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

In your opinion the Zebralight SC52 is a bulky light?

I currently EDC a Maratac AAA , I also have a AA Maratac, it isn’t much bigger.

I’m not familiar with that particular light offhand, but I thought all ZebraLights had the “big head” look. Not sure of the technical term, lol. I guess I like my lights to more or less have a straight body.

I can see why one would think that about ZL. They aren’t sleek and slim like this, for example:

Sadly it doesn’t have moonlight low.

Welcome to BLF, cf!

thanks!

Eagletac D25A clicky. It super.
Takes 1 x AA. If you pop a 14500 in it, it really smokes.

Thanks for the suggestion. I prefer all modes to go through the rear clicky if they make such a light. That’s the only thing I don’t like about the Eagletac.

I’ll take a look at the Maratac. Thanks.

I somehow missed the clicky requirement :~
TBH I prefer rear clicky too, but I love my Maratacs (they are twisties).
They have a “tactical” that is rear tail clicky though.

Thrunite T10S.

A rear clicky that can tailstand makes for a pretty long light, and in a AA diameter, fiddly to operate - have a look at the Zebralight SC52, not a rear clicky but better in every way, I think.

Here here to the SC52!

Where where? Oh, I guess you mean hear hear!

Cheers

Only three lights come to mind… the ZL SC52 (which is smaller than it might look online, and has by far the best runtime on moon/low modes), the EagleTac D25A clicky (which has several nice emitter options), and the Thrunite T10S (stainless steel is nice for EDC). I find the SC52 is very useful as a night light when tail-standing in moon mode; at 8 hours per night it’ll last about 6 weeks.

This shows the T10S and the SC52, for size reference. Also, on the far right is the L3 L10, a great option if you can live with a twisty.

Also for size reference, this shows the SC52 next to a D25A titanium clicky.

Here are some flashlights that fit your discription sorted by lowest price first.

Solarforce Z2 Comes in a variety of colours

Fenix E12

EOSLamp VAN32

ThruNite Archer 1A

LuminTop ED15

Only the Thrunite Archer has a true moonlight low (0.2 lumens). The rest only low mode (well, the Solarforce Z2 has a 4 lumen low; Lumintop 2 lumens).

Well the OP did say rear clicky which I assume would rule out the SC52, otherwise I would add the Spark SF5 or maybe some side switches like the Olight S15 to the list. Not positive about the SF5 but I know the S15 has a moonlight mode.

I own the T10S which is a great light, and I have a D25A Ti Clicky inbound as well. I see a DX10 in one of those photos above. Nice.

This is very bright on AA already.
Do not put a 14500 in this, it will toast the driver and/or LED immediately!

I know you said AA, but imho atm for the price the Fenix E35UE is unbeatable, seriously.
