The middle threads were a totally mess. I decided to tig weld the head & the rest body. Heat lotaheat did the artistic part of the project.
After the welding, I smooth the point with a lathe. I love the triple colour!
Nice repair. I would love to have a TIG welder.
There is a product in the USA called Alumaweld. It allows you to braze aluminum at about 700-750 degrees F (370 to 400 C). No flux is required.

That looks good, if to want the bezel/tail to match you can heat them on a stove/got plate. I plan to do a light or two of my own soon, going to go from a silver fading into that orange.
