Interesting news video

For alkaline batteries I usually BOGO the CVS batteries. I was browsing for info on who makes them and how they stack up.

Really interesting. I used to pick up a tray of AA and AAA from Costco every other month or so.

Started buying dollar store (sunbeams actually) but maybe I’ll go back to the Kirklands….

I generally use brand name alkalines because of their leak warranty. Currently, I place alkaline batteries in infrequently used devices that are not mission critical. I should use lithium primaries or LSD NiMH but budget batteries, right?

I ride my bicycle very infrequently, so I can’t decide whether to use lithium, alkaline or NiMH (alkies in the tube). However, the NiMH are just self discharging in a plastic bag, so why not have them self discharge in a metal tube? The lithium are also in a similar state, but it is sacrilege to deplete a 1.5V lithium battery if it is not an emergency.

I use my 2 way radio very infrequently. Alkies in the hated 3xAAA format are included. Again, NiMH and lithium are self discharging in a plastic bag. I will just add the NiMH.

I am tempted to throw away the alkies and simplify matters. I’ve done a lot of discarding recently.
