You can a spend a lot more and not have as versatile a tool.
Heck, buy 2, one as a primary & second as a backup.
FWIW

vestureofblood,
I was very happy with the way your last group buy worked out. Everything went smooth and I got my light in perfect condition and a timely manner. Glad to see you are doing another one.

I am going to read up on MT26 some.

Is it a linear driver?

Thats a good question Bort.   I have never dissected one of these before, I'm hoping it has at least some boost capability ( like my other nitecores), but I cant say for certain.    If anyone else happens to know please chime in Smile

someone who owns one can chart current drawn over time, if it rises linearly as the battery is depleted its a boost driver (likely a linear boost)

I am pretty sure your correct.  That is what it says on the manufacturer web page is XM-L U2.

I will say that in spite of them using gen one LEDs, they lumen output numbers I have seen from them so far are very realistic.    I tested one of the MT2As in my own sphere and it came within a hand full of lumens of what was printed on the box (280).   I'd say any discrepancy there was due to my sphere is home made from a $20 light meter Smile

I have one of these somewhere. I should dig it up and see if I can do an emitter swap. It’s a very nice light.

OK this is really one of the more embarrassing moments in my life.    I have realized I dont have time to fully execute this buy before I leave for my honeymoon in a few days.    As a result we're going to have to postpone this.

I am refunding the money that was sent to me once I finish this message and PM will be sent along too.     I will be back in late June from vacation and we will revisit it then.

Again I am very sorry about this.    I guess on the bright side since interest in this light was low, casualties are very minimal Smile

Have a good week everyone.

Starting at the top, I'll be taking a 6 de-domed XML2 2D maglite.    A hand full of the MT2As ( for gifts and or sales ) .    My edc that is some word I always forget how to spell, its like Xoixs or something.   Its an unmarked calendar light I modded to XML 2 at 3A.     Stephanie has a C8 I modded to a P7 years ago when that was the hot button, she also has an Icon rouge II.    Possibly my quark AA2 and a head lamp or two.....

Thats about it.   I had planned to take a made from scratchy, but time constraints have probly squashed that.

I am really looking forward to this trip.   I havent been on a real vacation in like ten years. Smile
