Budget ZHISHUNJIA AA/14500 XP-E R2 Neutral White

I like the looks of this light. Don’t know much about the brand, etc.

It will take a AA or 14500 battery, has a neutral white emitter, gold or black color, side switch as well as a decent looking, deep pocket clip. Supposedly glass lens and Al reflector…all for under $6…pretty affordable (BLFDXDEAL should make it even cheaper!)

Anybody order one yet?

No one, after lighting a lamp, puts it away in a cellar nor under a basket, but on the lampstand, so that those who enter may see the light.

The one I got, without the branding, was advertised as a Q5 which would work with both 14500 and AA cells. Mine would not light with anything other than a 14500, and I notified the seller. I haven’t seen much info on these yet in order to tell if there really are different versions out there.

[Any tips on removing print on anodized surface?
Couldn’t find anything about it..]

Here it is without any branding;

I got this one and the 16340 light both from this vendor and he ships very quick.
It does only work on 14500. Nice light, feels more expensive than it is and throws well for a small sucker.

Look further down on listing under “Specification” & “Color BIN”…

i would think its cool white – only because it says 6500k in the title and do they even make an xre-r2 in neutral? most of the cheapie zoomies like this are cool white usually

I hope my guess is wrong…. if it does turn out to be a actual neutral i do want one for myself lol

maybe just order and hope for the best at this price?

did you get one yet krono?

You are probably right…cool white. I tried to get one, but for some reason the coupon code (BLFDXDEAL) didn’t work. I get the message “The purchased sku is not in our promotion list.” Anybody else have that issue?

Does anyone have a pic of the driver? This would be a no- brainer if I can shove a new driver in it (either direct fit or piggybacked). Can anyone provide atlease the diameter of the driver and how much height is in there?

Is the switch separate on its own board or driver mounted?

Could you also confirm the compatibility with AA batteries?

Just received it. Unfortunately it only works w/14500s.

That’s not really a surprise with that 3mm direct-connect-to-the-battery-interface…
Pity though..

Found a gold one without any print for $4.91 free shipping:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/390841620308?ssPageName=STRK:MESINDXX:IT&_trksid...
Hoping it indeed has no print on it…
Found it after I ordered the DX one…
Both are on their way now.. Big Smile

Sigh. Don’t want to get into 14500. Thanks for the replies.

I like sticking an FET driver in em, with reversing 5 level modes (long press to go backward, short press for forward) and when they have 500 lumens or more in em it’s easy to go from off to Turbo or off to Moon and back out back to off. Great for instant use, whether on the low side or hi side.

Smile

I know, little lights aren’t supposed to make big light power output, but if you don’t tell em that they seem to coast along just fine…
