DC voltmeter / gauge for mount on battery storage box?

I own this large battery storage box that holds my 12v boat battery. The factory gauge is dead and I want to add a new one to the box. I see some cheap digital ones at DX but I’d prefer to mount one in some type of waterproof way. Any recommendations for a budget voltmeter that would be good to mount in this box? It could get rained so need to mount in in a waterproof fashion.

Thanks for ideas!

You can put clear heatshrink tubing around those small voltmeters…they really don’t pull much current so you can get away with very thin wires like 28 or 32 ga wires

Also there is a tiny gap between the pcb those meters sit on and the led box, squirting some clear RTV (sensor/electronics safe) in that seam will seal it)

Or just find an already waterproof one on ebay

That battery gauge is only lights underneath the visual part, you might only have a connection problem, have a look at that before spending on something you will have to modify to work and could cause more problems than a solution.

What kind of connection problem do you see?
