I need suggestions for a light to calibrate my PVC tube!

So silly me was sifting through this pile of PVC fittings and whatnot for some 4 or 6inch pieces when it occurred to me that Im not even sure I have a light to calibrate the darn thing. I know several members were adamant about using Fenix to do so, but I don't have one. :(

so... Do I have any other options or do I need to buy a Fenix light?

Ive still got my Nitecore MH40, BTU Shocker, and a bunch of budget lights.

The Nitecore should be ok for one, I have had two TM26s tested in a calibrated commercial IS and one was spot on and the other IIRC about 100 lumens out. And the other Nitecores that I tested in my own box of mysteries using the 26 as one reference were very close to their listed output. At least within the error limits of my setup.

I would try and use at least two different known output lights for calibration, do you not know of anyone with a more powerful Nitecore or Fenix that could lend it to you?

I’m the only crazy flashlight guy among my friends. None of them could fathom spending that much on a flashlight. :stuck_out_tongue:

I think I’ll just record a bunch of data and see where that takes me.

As far as I can tell I think I have pretty much the only Nitecore light that hasn’t had a full comprehensive review, lol.

What about a Tank007 E09? Use a freshly charged nimh and get 72-76 lumens output for the first couple of minutes. It is cheap and tested by a lot of different members.

Thats a Bug, you will have to try harder to convert them

In the first instance I suppose just use the Nitecore’s listed output and see how it goes H)

Are there no BLF members nearby that could help out?… I’m a bit far.

Good luck, are you doing the famous U bend box of mysteries or some other plan

I don’t have an IS/ light box/ whatever your making, just take ceiling bounce lux readings and convert them and I use two lights for “calibration”. A foursevens Quark (going by Selfbuilt’s numbers) and a fenix p2D (factory numbers).
