2xAAA with XP-E?

Hello, I am looking for a compact 2xAAA light with an xp-e emitter…it seems these don’t really exist.

I already have the preon penlight from foursevens, but it’s too much flood for me to like.

I am looking at the nextorch k3 since it has a very good form factor for me. But it comes with the xpg also…

I want a larger smooth reflector with the xpe emitter, to maximize throw. I am willing to mod the nextorch, but it seems it would be a very difficult task with such small form factor components. At that point I’d be dedoming a xpe2.

Any lights fit my criteria?

This is not AAA but 2xAA. Good price with newer XP-E2. Nitecore MT21A

I’m really looking for AAA because of the smaller form factor. This is to replace my much smaller Preon penlight.

Did Google help at all? It finds quite a few — none I’ve used personally tho’

Thats a great looking light, nice price too.

None really seem to be compact enough to warrant being AAA, I might as well go with AA. But thanks for the help!

Have you considered replacing it with a Preon P2? I realize that uses an XP-G2, which is not what you asked for.

Fenix have a bunch of models that take 1or 2 AA and have XP-E. They have a 1 x AAA XP-E also.

Since there seems to be no xpe lights that match my wants, I am now considering the P2, and maybe it’s possible to swap in an xpe-2.

Before that happens I’m gonna be getting the mini m2a and see if I’m satisfied with that, a possible xpe2 swap also, and probably just end up using the penlight as a formal occasion light.

If you find the Preon too floody, then maybe the Tank007 E11 with XR-E?

Hmm that looks perfect, thank you for that recommendation!

Maybe the output could be a little higher, (200 range like the preons) but I think that may do just fine.

I’ve already chosen the foursevens m2a for an AA light. This thread was for AAA lights. A nice list of the only good 2xAA lights at fasttech though. The thing that makes the m2a good for me is it’s the smallest of the group. The saik is pretty nice for the price (Except for my momentary only switch :expressionless: ) a very good throw for it.
