Winner is chosen.
Congratulations Musicmagic I’m sending a pm your way
I’m going to have a giveaway for Canada day. (also for being beaten by my scratch build)
I am going to put up my ultrafire c8. This is my first c8 and has been a practice host for a lot of different things. It’s still in excellent condition, I did take the anodizing off one of the body flats, other than that it is near new.
It’s running an xpg2 r5 1A on a 16mm sinkpad with Arctic silver 5 under the star. It’s using a high med low nanjg at 3.5 amps. This light will not accept protected batteries as I had to add a brass ring to hold the nanjg in place in the pill. I also added a brass slug as the positive on the driver as well because spring would not work. (for batteries to fit)
The tail cap has been braided and does not tail stand although I may see if I can get it to.
The reflector does make the beam a bit ringy but the hotspot is tight with a smooth corona. I’ve tried many things and I believe it’s simply the reflector causing the rings on the outside. I’ve used an xpg to xml adapter, I actually threw this together quickly when I got the adapters to test them months ago so it’s not perfectly tweaked as it maybe could be. I believe I added a heatsink in the pill but as of right now I can’t remember, I’ll check later this week and add one if I didn’t already.
This will make a good mod host for practice and stands pretty well the way it is. It is pushing 85kcd at 10 meters on my brothers old light meter, so could be more or less, that’s a ballpark guess since it’s an old meter, it did reproduce the same results over and over though.
