The BLF DeLight

Thought this light deserved a thread of its own as the most lumens for the least cash. Will fill this out soon. For those who haven't yet come across this miracle of cheapness, it is to be found here.

Six of them including postage from China just cost me $8.57

The marks on it are mostly pollen or the result of a few weeks knocking against all the other lights in the bag in the trunk of my car.

Here's a beamshot at a tree fifty feet away.

Formal testing to follow in the near-ish future.

Hit Google on this term ("BLF DeLight") and got any number of hits on mesothelioma instead. Apparently BLF has been preempted by the British Lung Foundation. Not a single link to the real thing....

And how many of those were sponsored by lawyers - well just google on mesothelioma and see...

I just bought 5 of these for $7.05 and they should make nice gifts. 8)

The BLF DeLight

I wonder if i should get in on this......since everyone is ordering a bundle of them.

Go for it Al. You can't beat the price on this uber budget light. They're $2 cheaper per light than those Rubber 1-Watt Pocket LED Flashlight you and I bought from GoldenGadgets.

Im actually going to purchase another light......checking on sites now.

If you will get on E-Bay and enter 260500365847 it will take you to the same seller, but a different light. I got four of them for $6.09. All four of them worked. I think they're a little dim but @ that price you can put a primary alkaline in them & stick one in your toolbox, cars, etc.

Here's my favorite toolbox and glove compartment lights:

It's only 30 lumens and uses 2*AAA but it feels really good to hold. The index finger has a perfect groove with the thumb switch right above it. I got mine for $16.47 at Home Depot.

Plus it has a Lifetime Guarantee.

Whoo hooo, we are now #1 on google for "blf delight". Feels great to be noticed by a robot doesn't it?

Congrats Admin! It's all because of your hard work and also because of all the people here that share their knowledge and expertise and are very patient and pleasant about it.

Today Google.....Tomorrow the World!!!!

Thanks a lot! Actually, thanks to you guys, three thumbs up for our users! Google suddenly is taking notice of us, we are consistently ranked in the first or second page of the google results for searches like [light model] review

Hey Don is it ok if I paste into your first post a link to this same product on the USA ebay.com domain? That way we'll cover most of our users who buy in USD$.

Makes sense

Six of them arrive! 14 days from China which is pretty good - it can be 5 weeks. HK is almost always faster.

Now topping off some Eneloops so that all have the same amount of charge in them and see how they run. Will give me a chance to inspect all 6 closely while I'm at it. I now have 7 usable ones of these and one lemon. Will compare it with the Powerlight. Can't find the second one of those though - it is probably somewhere on this desk....

Please do let us know about runtime on an Eneloop if you have time. I'm going to test mine again with an Eneloop, I was quite nonplussed by the runtime of mine.

I'd just dug out all my lights for a group photo and found lights I'd forgotten I owned. While I was doing that, the eneloops were topping off so I'll put all 7 working DeLights and the two powerlights on and see how long they all run. Won't bother with the datalogger, straight timing ought to do the trick as it'll be a while.

I suspect the Powerlight will handily beat the DeLights on runtime, possibly by as much as 50% to 100% more runtime. While you're at it, you might try comparing the beam quality of the Powerlight to the nicest beam you can think of in one of your favorite, more expensive lights, you might be pleasantly surprised.

The two original DeLights would appear to be the 7th and 8th flashlights from the left in the front row. They have a more domed switch, whereas the newer ones have a flatter rubber boot. The older ones also have less agressive, more evenly spaced circumferential rings in the head section.

Just as I was posting. This is a pain. Stuck all 7 DeLights on top of a door about 70cm from the ceiling. Stuck a Powerlight at each end and set them going at 19:43 BST. The Powerlights are not nearly as bright - the spot from the left hand one is very faint.

Here they are drunkenly perching on top of the door.

The drunkenness is more evident from the other side of the door.

And here are the beams - there are nine hotspots there.

Unfortunately they are rather overexposed. Will take a shot every so often and put it up.

I have ordered a few of the "BLF DeLight" from Digitalzone88, hoping that they are brighter than the #260500365847's that I bought. The more I look at those lights, the dimmer they get!
