Anyone know what light this is?

Hey guys,

I saw a picture of this flashlight host a long time ago and have wondered ever since where I could possibly purchase it.

Does anyone recognise it? Does anyone know the name of it?

Thanks

Are you sure it’s a flashlight? Looks like the switch button on one end and some type of screw in knob on the other, where is the led?

That’s a laser diode thingie. A quick google image search brings these pictures up. But the name of the laser/host associated with them slightly differs.

Laser?

I type so slow.

Correct. It was originally a flashlight but was converted into a laser.

The photos above are just pasted from LPF.

I asked the gentlemen who sold these to provide a source for the hosts but he avoided the question.

I bet that flashlight has a tight hotspot, totally useless spill, and horrendous CRI.

Why do you say that? :stuck_out_tongue:

Anyway, I’m more interested in the aesthetics than anything else.

Love it

.

After months and months of looking (not really, was just browsing CNQ :p) I have finally found this host

It goes by the name D9 SS

It weighs a bloody tonne at 120 gram!

In comparison the SS convoy s7 with virtually identical dimensions only weighs 87 grams.

There are clearly at least a few grams in the tail assembly. It appears that a tiny cylindrical AA or AAA switch was used in place of a more normal switch for an 18650 light.

The good news is that there doesn’t seem to be anything obvious preventing a person from cutting down the retaining ring to retain a normal switch+pcb arrangement.

I think that this D9 SS looks significantly more attractive than the S7 in the knurling. I’m not sure about all the steps (in and out) or the grooving on the head.
