So...instead of getting the promised choice of any flashlight valued up to $30, you each got a random certificate for one of four products valued at under $2? I would have no problem if it was clear in the beginning of the contest that those would be the prizes. This was not the case.
1st place prize was a promised choice of any flashlight valued between $30-$60. I was PM'd and told that my prize was an unknown TR3-T6 clone plus I was asked to make a review for it. Reviewing it means it is no longer a prize but an exchange for review. While many here would love a TR3-T6, it is a 2-3 yr old light that I already own and have reviewed in detail. It's not my choice of what they have between $30-$60 and there lies my issue. I do not normally look a gift horse in the mouth but I will not sit by idly while a vendor manipulates and lies to our members just to get cheap name recognition and publicity.
Because of this I am graciously (trying to at least) passing on my prize and offering it to 2nd place of Sami's choice.
That said, I am appalled with the blatant lie of gifts to all participants. This is hardly their choice of product valued to $30 that was promised. It is deceptive, manipulative to the forum, and generally stinks of douchebaggery. I'm very happy that at least one person is happy with their bike light clamp but is it what you would have chosen for yourself from the promised inventory of products valued up to $30?
