Flashlight nut, but a newbie here

Hey all. My name is Doug and I'm a Flashaholic.

Doug

Hmmm. I wrote a whole lot more than that but when I posted it got edited out. Kinda weird. I guess I will have to type the rest again.

Welcome Doug. I hope you enjoy your time here.

So I'll post my story again I guess. Been a flashlight nut my whole life but it ramped up in the last 5-6 years with all the new lights available. I have about 40 or so lights, mostly cheaper ones, but a few in the $40-$75 range. I'm an LED guy now (I have a Surefire G3 incandescent that I haven't used in two years). Most of my better lights use either RCR123A or 18650 batteries but I think I want to get more 2 x AA and 3 X AAA lights. I damaged the lens on my Fenix PD30 EDC light and am hoping to find a similar replacement that uses either AA or AAA. So anyway, that's my story and I'm sticking to it. I hope to find a lot of useful info here.

Welcome to blf, Doug! You will find tons of useful info here. I’d bet you even have some to share.

Thanks for the welcome. A few years ago I was on that Candle forum but I got tired of the drama. I just want to discuss cool flashlights without the drama. Hopefully this forum is a place for me.

Welcome mate!

Then this is the place for you. We have a little drama here too but everybody seems to get over it pretty quick. Welcome

+1 Welcome, Doug. You'll love it here.

Welcome Doug!! You're in the perfect place.

Welcome to BLF Doug!

You're story sounds vaguely familiar... Are you sure you're not talking about me?

Welcome to BLF. Take off your coat, have a seat and relax.

I live near Phoenix, AZ, not sure if I even own a coat. LOL

But thanks all for the welcome.

I'm a newb here too, just getting into the swing of things. I'm already in the midst of creating my own "custom" lights, if you can call ordering recommended parts and putting them together custom. At any rate it is great fun and fairly affordable. It can get fairly deep too, like programming your lights modes. That is the good thing about this place, you can go shallow, or you can go deep, but there will always be light.
